GE reaches tentative deal with union on new contract

General Electric reached a tentative deal with its unions on a new contract Sunday night.
The deal was announced Sunday at 7:47 p.m., just hours before the old contract was about to expire.
“The four-year job packages provide improvements in healthcare, wages, pension and job and income security. The contract provisions will also be extended to additional unions that have local contracts with GE,” GE said in a statement.
Local 301 of the IUE-CWA represents workers at GE’s steam turbine and generator plant in Schenectady.
