Mike Huckabee Co-Author Accused of Child Molestation
Source: Mediaite
The Christian writer who has co-authored books with presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore was allegedly excommunicated from his church after being accused of molesting a young girl.
John Perry co-wrote two books with Huckabee: Do the Right Thing: Inside the Movement Thats Bringing Common Sense Back to America (2008) and Character Is the Issue (2007). The latter title is especially interesting given that BuzzFeed News uncovered sworn statements from the writers ex-wife that he admitted sexual abuse of a female minor a claim that was sustained by police but were found too old to prosecute.
More from the report:
The alleged sexual battery was reported to have occurred when the victim was between the ages of 11 and 14, said Nashville police department spokesperson Don Aaron in a statement to BuzzFeed News.
As a result of the investigation, the allegations of sexual battery were sustained, but it was determined that the statute of limitations had tolled, barring prosecution. The victim was age 18 when she first disclosed the allegations to non-law enforcement and said at that time she did not want the matter reported to the Tennessee Department of Childrens Services or the police.

Josh Duggar, Ted Nugent ... and now this guy.
What is it with Huckabee and pedophiles?
Just another example of the sick, depraved conservative lifestyle, which the scriptures tell us is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord.

Anything goes in the party of perverts, the GOP. Or maybe Grifting Odious Perverts fits.
You don't have to be religious to know that what they do is wrong. It's called empathy and seeing yourself walking in someone else's shoes.
Maybe they are all sociopaths.

# Convicted rapist paroled in 1999 while Huckabee was governor of Arkansas

Huckabee is a HUGE LIAR. He spit in the face of all those women, just to stick it to Bill Clinton.

Dumond was also an already confessed killer. He had testified in court about how he had killed a man with a claw hammer (he was given immunity to testify against his 2 co-murderers).
Huckabee knew the man was a killer, but it was more important to stick it to Bill Clinton than to protect the next victims.
Huckabee is disgusting and vile.

Exclusive: Documents Expose Huckabee's Role In Murderer's Release
December 4, 2007 11:18 PM
Little Rock, Ark -- As governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee aggressively pushed for the early release of a convicted rapist despite being warned by numerous women that the convict had sexually assaulted them or their family members, and would likely strike again. The convict went on to rape and murder at least one other woman.
Confidential Arkansas state government records, including letters from these women, obtained by the Huffington Post and revealed publicly for the first time, directly contradict the version of events now being put forward by Huckabee.
While on the campaign trail, Huckabee has claimed that he supported the 1999 release of Wayne Dumond because, at the time, he had no good reason to believe that the man represented a further threat to the public. Thanks to Huckabee's intervention, conducted in concert with a right-wing tabloid campaign on Dumond's behalf, Dumond was let out of prison 25 years before his sentence would have ended...
In a letter that has never before been made public, one of Dumond's victims warned: "I feel that if he is released it is only a matter of time before he commits another crime and fear that he will not leave a witness to testify against him the next time." Before Dumond was granted parole at Huckabee's urging, records show that Huckabee's office received a copy of this letter from Arkansas' parole board.

(46,317 posts)Even though this guy Perry and Josh Duggar has admitted to being pedophiles, we still have no evidence Huckabee or Moore knew about the abuse, much less participated in it.
Otherwise we'll be doing what happened with the "Satanic ritual abuse" hysteria during the 1980's, people went to jail for years for "crimes" that never happened.
Now if Moore and/or Huckabee covered up the abuse, they deserve to be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.
Otherwise, we will end up looking like the right-wingers want to paint us as, hysterics willing to convict people on accusations.

(65,319 posts)insisting that people are being so terribly unfair to squawk about the fact that Jim Bob and the church elders covered up Josh's crimes and made the girls feel that they were somehow to blame for their own victimization.
He should have kept his trap shut instead of jumping right in with such a full-throated defense of Josh and Jim Bob.
Janet and I want to affirm our support for the Duggar family. Joshs actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, inexcusable, but that doesnt mean unforgivable. He and his family dealt with it and were honest and open about it with the victims and the authorities. No purpose whatsoever is served by those who are now trying to discredit Josh or his family by sensationalizing the story. Good people make mistakes and do regrettable and even disgusting things. The reason that the law protects disclosure of many actions on the part of a minor is that the society has traditionally understood something that todays blood-thirsty media does not understandthat being a minor means that ones judgement is not mature. No one needs to defend Joshs actions as a teenager, but the fact that he confessed his sins to those he harmed, sought help, and has gone forward to live a responsible and circumspect life as an adult is testament to his familys authenticity and humility. Those who have enjoyed revealing this long ago sins in order to discredit the Duggar family have actually revealed their own insensitive bloodthirst , for there was no consideration of the fact that the victims wanted this to be left in the past and ultimately a judge had the information on file destroyednot to protect Josh, but the innocent victims. Janet and I love Jim Bob and Michelle and their entire family. They are no more perfect a family than any family, but their Christian witness is not marred in our eyes because following Christ is not a declaration of our perfection, but of HIS perfection. It is precisely because we are all sinners that we need His grace and His forgiveness. We have been blessed to receive Gods love and we would do no less than to extend our love and support for our friends. In fact, it is such times as this, when real friends show up and stand up. Today, Janet and I want to show up and stand up for our friends. Let others run from them. We will run to them with our support <emphasis added>.
And then later:
After rushing to defend longtime supporter Josh Duggar in the wake of confirmed child sexual abuse allegations, former Arkansas governor and Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee stood by the family in an appearance on The Kelly File on Monday, telling host Megyn Kelly that he does not believe he went too far in defending the Duggars authenticity and humility.
In every family, we all deal with crises, Huckabee said. We deal with issues.
The former Fox News host also criticized the media for creating a spectacle of the abuse (which it has, but that doesnt mean the case shouldnt have been covered), and took particular issue with what he characterized as the unlawful release of a police report detailing abuse within the 19 Kids & Counting clan. Additionally, Huckabee claimed reporters on the scandal are merely attempting to destroy the Duggar family.
