BOSTON Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is touting support from two former Democratic mayors in his bid for re-election.
Brown held events on Monday with former Boston Mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn, and former Worcester Mayor Konstantina Lukes.
~snip~
The Massachusetts Democratic party said in a statement that it was not surprised by the endorsements because Flynn and Lukes are registered Democrats who "regularly support Republican candidates and Republican policies."
Brown's likely Democratic opponent in November is Harvard Law School professor Elizabeth Warren.

(5 posts)Ray Flynn was a raving alcoholic during his years as mayor. The press, including the Glove, covered it up.
Aside from being the white guy who opposed busing, Ray had little to offer. He has always been a closet Republican in his policies.
Warren Stupidity
(48,181 posts)He is a rightwing catholic anti abortion fanatic. Supported Bush in 2000. He also backed Brown in 2010.

(16,903 posts)Elizabeth Warren is gaining traction in MA, and come September, October, when Clinton begins to campaign for her, and she is seen in MA with Obama, things might just turn around.
Did you hear that Scotty Brown's daughter is on Obamacare??? She is one of those "in betweens" (age, 23), and yet he did not support the ACA.

(160,515 posts)You wouldn't think Mass. would want something like Brown representing them in the Senate, when they had Ted Kennedy there. Doesn't make sense.

(29,853 posts)Ray Flynns and Konstantina Lukes. Massachusetts Democrats seem to be very willing to support Republicans. If they weren't there never would have been a Senator Scott Brown or Governors Mitt Romney, Paul Cellucci, and William Weld.

(27,315 posts)There are a lot of RW who have a D after their name in MA, because they figure out long ago that they need the D to be elected.

(50,254 posts)Brown is as pro-choice as Warren(unless he's done a Romney recently).
