Following the suicide of his boss, Tom Schweich, spokesman takes own life

Source: politico

Spence Jackson, the former spokesman for Tom Schweich, Missouri’s state auditor who shot and killed himself at his home in Clayton, Mo., last month, apparently took his own life Sunday evening at his home in Jefferson City, multiple Republicans with ties to Mr. Schweich said on Sunday evening.

Mr. Jackson, who had been working in the Auditor’s office following the suicide of Mr. Schweich, was a close confidant of the Republican gubernatorial candidate. Jefferson City police on Sunday evening refused to weigh in on Mr. Jackson, saying they would have a comment on Monday morning.

Mr. Schweich killed himself amidst a contentious campign for governor, during which he believed he was the subject of an anti-Semetic whisper campaign and a brutal radio commercial.

Prior to joining Mr. Schweich’s office, Mr. Jackson had served as spokesman for Missouri Gov. Matt Blunt.

I wish the title was better to call attention to what the hell is going on with these republicans.

Sympathies to his family and friends. Undoubtedly the suicide of his former boss took a toll on his life also.

but from what I understand there was an a campaign orchestrated by another Republican operative that was trying to portray the former auditor with remarks about his appearance and that the former auditor was also a homosexual (an allegation that hasn't been proven). I don't want to make any assumptions, but I wouldn't put it past the GOP to try and out the spokesman as a homosexual. There is a lot of dirt and innuendo regarding the suicide of the former auditor that I wouldn't be surprised if there is some trickle down to the spokesman also (plus we know how Republicans believe that everything "trickles down" ).

Two people don't commit suicide over a whisper campaign implying that Schweich was Jewish. That was what was claimed after Schweich killed himself. There has to be something major that has happened. But so far nobody is talking about it. There hasn't been anything more about it in the KC Star. Maybe today's news will have more. I'm sure the Star is on it big time now.

Roe has a reputation for being totally ruthless. Politicals hire him because his filthy campaigns win elections. Nobody is firing him even after all this awfulness came down.

As someone mentioned already, there has to be more involved than the simple "whisper campaign." It all needs to come out.

These Republicans shouldn't be able to expect our corporate media to help them maintain complete privacy when they owe their public careers to the people of Missouri.
