Colorado GOP aghast at Klingenschmitt's act-of-God comment in baby's death
Source: Denver Post
Several leading Colorado Republicans lashed out Thursday against state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt, saying his act-of-God comments about an attack on a pregnant woman whose baby was cut from her stomach were "disgusting" and "reprehensible."
The lawmaker, who also is a minister, quoted the Bible in his "Pray In Jesus Name" program Wednesday and tried to link the crime to abortion.
"This is the curse of God upon America for our sin of not protecting innocent children in the womb and part of that curse for our rebellion against God as a nation is that our pregnant women are ripped open," Klingenschmitt said.
Among those who denounced the remarks: two fellow El Paso County Republicans, Laura Carno, who in January started a Facebook page called "Conservatives against Gordon Klingenschmitt," and former Rep. Mark Waller, whose used to represent House District 15 in Colorado Springs.

He only got elected because the district is almost entirely Talibornagains.

this guy has always been insane, and yet he still had their backing. If they didn't know he was going to say horrible things they weren't paying attention and are entirely too stupid to be in government.
He has made other comments that other Colorado Springs republicans just kept quiet about even though they were asked to condemn his bullshit. Screw them all. He is the logical conclusion for a batshit crazy party.

(26,355 posts)He's an overgrown man-toddler, and a complete and utter loon, sent to the Capitol by a district in Colorado Springs that would elect a banana slug if it had an "R" next to its name.
I suffer from a complete inability to take this man-toddler seriously. Hell, with his baby face and his thin, baldish hair, he even looks like a toddler.

(659 posts)but I can't. Eastern Colorado Springs is insane. Betty Beedy, Doug Bruce, and this guy have all been given to the world by that area of town. Eastern Colorado Springs never hesitates to elect someone who will shame the entire city. Much of this city is politically bad, but that area is the absolute worst.

(54,341 posts)Most of them spout off their insane, offensive garbage and get at most a guest spot on Fox Noise without so much as a detrimental remark.
But once the harsh light of public scrutiny falls upon them, OOOPS, they said something reprehensible that "in no way reflects the thinking of the Republican Party, blah blah, blah...."
As we say in Texas, Bulllllsheeeeeeyit. This guy's bat shit crazy ranting is mainstream Republican thinking. His only error was to be so specific when the cameras were on.

Your point stands.
