Ferguson, Missouri, Police Chief Thomas Jackson Resigns

Source: NBC NEWS

Ferguson, Missouri, Police Chief Thomas Jackson resigned Wednesday, the city announced. He is the latest in a string of city officials ousted in the wake of a Justice Department report that found a culture of racism in the police department and city offices.

Jackson's resignation — which the city said was a "mutual decision" — is effective March 19.

Municipal Judge Ronald Brockmeyer resigned Monday and City Manager John Shaw resigned Tuesday after they were highlighted in the scathing report, which was commissioned after white police officer Darren Wilson, who has since resigned, shot and killed unarmed black 18-year-old Michael Brown in August. Wilson wasn't charged in the shooting.

Two police officers were suspended and later resigned, and the city's top court clerk was fired.

make them whole after lifetimes of loss? Compensation for a decade or so of evil?

Too many comfortable white folk. Still.

Don't know if it included his pension, I would not think so, since a long term pension would be more than that.

until the justice report, i'm convinced, the racists running ferguson thought this would all blow over and they'd go back to business as usual.

they are going for the big ticks now - and the civil suit has been filed. hopefully, that man's life is falling apart at the seams and he will never serve on a local police department anywhere, again.

it's in their pig nature -except for the handful of good cops. i'm thinking they have something bigger than him. they chose not to prosecute him at this time but, there is so much racist corruption that the entire fabric of that hateful brotherhood is going to come down in one huge swoop. the current resignations are just the few bricks here and there crumbling off - did you notice how it was a female clerk who was the first to go? hmm. yeah. she was their warning. they thought a couple of small "sacrificial" goats would satisfy the doj. they should be waking up because the doj has the hot poker this time. wait until it begins to shake the kkk.
