BBC News Police have arrested a Sun journalist and a former member of the armed forces in connection with an investigation into illegal payments made to police and public officials by journalists.
A third person was also held after detectives from Scotland Yard's Operation Elveden searched two houses in Kent and Lancashire.
A total of 26 people have been arrested since last July as part of the inquiry.
News Corporation provided information which led to the arrests, police said.
