Scott Walker On 2016: 'I Wouldn't Bet Against Me'
Source: HUFFPOST
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) has not officially announced that he will run for president in 2016, but he is feeling very confident about his chances.
Martha Raddatz, host of ABCs This Week, asked Walker on Sunday morning whether there is a 99 percent chance hell run.
"I dont know that Id take the odds," Walker responded. "Ill just tell you one thing. After three elections for governor in four years in a state that hasnt gone Republican since 1984 for president, I wouldnt bet against me on anything."
A new Bloomberg/Des Moines Register poll shows Walker as the favorite among possible GOP presidential candidates. The governor was the first choice of 15 percent of respondents, just edging out Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.

(3,795 posts)So, it's definitely possible for a dumb ass to become Pretzeldent again.
After all, we had Dubya for 2 terms (was he ever truly elected? I'll never know).
There's no real thinking involved for far too many. It's a tribal exercise all too often.

(1,241 posts)that if he were president he would support aggressive military action in the middle east. I am so sick of the war mongers. Are they going to start the draft back up, because the volunteers we have now are WORE OUT and I don't think there are enough suckers to join another war for oil. Especially since they know how well the Veteran is treated now days.

(904 posts)...this guy is WELL-BANKED, and WELL-BACKED. He's the GOP's Golden Boy right now, and as much as it pains me to admit it, he did manage to survive that contentious recall election a few years back.
Because he's such a slickster, he may be able to appeal to the more "moderate", less-crazy elements of the Republican party, as well as perhaps, some DINOs. He can also use his recall election as an appealing token to the Tea-Piglicans ("Boy, he shure stuck it to them libruls!" To those that don't pay attention (which represents a frighteningly large segment of the American population), he can seem very charming and "reasonable" - the very markings of a literal and political psychopath.
I can very easily see him gaining Mitt's old donors, as well as additional help from Adelson and his minions.

(11,843 posts)You are too damn stupid to see that cheating is not the quality people look for in a president. Do you really think that the reason you were asked to leave college will not come out in a campaign? Hell, it will probably come out in the primary.

What the hell is wrong with his eyes? Is there a photo of him where he DOESN'T look like he just took a bunch of sleeping pills?

This is going to be the nastiest election in history. I really don't think the Rethugs will go there first, but if we do, they will fire back with both barrels.

(23,315 posts)Quoting an article:
Today, gambling on American elections is legal in Great Britain, where close $2 million was bet on the last election in one gaming establishment, Ladbrokes. They're already handicapping 2016.
"I can see we have Hillary Clinton as a 6-to-4 favorite, and then there is a massive gap to Marco Rubio and Chris Christie who are both in there 12 to 1. We have George Clooney at 200 to 1," said Alex Donohue, spokesperson for Ladbrokes.

(31 posts)As a fellow Wisconsinite I would remind Scooter that we elected an openly gay liberal Madison woman for Senate during a Presidential election year against a former popular WI Governor who won his elections by well over 20% on non-Presidential years. This was also the year the local boy (Paul Ryan) couldn't even help Romney. Ryan is almost identical to Scooter other than the fact he has a college degree and is more charismatic. Both have equally terrible economic plans. Would love to see a Presidential poll just in WI.

(31 posts)In hindsight that was true. We had little money and no one to run against him other than the guy he just beat. With Citizen United the money just poured in. However we thought it would work at the time. I thought that using tax dollars to pay the salaries of people running a secret wireless network to work on his campaign would be impossible to overcome. But this was rarely brought up either during the recall or the previous election. Maybe some the nation media will ask him directly on live TV. That would be great:
"Governor Walker why did you allow people who get paid from taxes to work on your Governor campaign during work hours? When caught, you sent an email to these people, who were being paid by the tax payers of Milwaukee County, stating to stop bringing personal laptops into work. Why were you allowing tax payers to pay the salaries of people working for your campaign rather than the people of Milwaukee County. Do you think the people of Milwaukee County should be paid back the salaries for the time they worked on your campaign? If not, why not?"
