gun and thots and actions

Several people have said you do not know what to think about the guns in our culture. So, here are some points to ponder, possible actions to take. Check in with your thoughts as you read thru this list. Thank you.

There is no need for the general public to have access to automatic weapons.
A well regulated militiaman had access to a single shot musket.
Licensed guns and licensed gun owners leave a paper trail.
A positive gun culture promoting guns kept in locked racks or cabinets would prevent children killing children and slow down the knee-jerk reaction killing incidents.
A positive gun culture promoting gun education and licenses (i.e. driver education) could discount home insurance.
Gun owners need to be required to have insurance...part of the registration and license process as with vehicles.
Home insurance policies need to begin to ask, Is there a weapon in your home? Is it accessible to a child?
Ditto auto insurance.
Write a note to your congressman and ask that people on the terror watch list/no-fly list be prevented from purchasing guns and explosives. Congress just voted it down, again.
Also ask to close the gun-show loophole re background checks.
Write to candidates and tell them you want guns to be licensed and insured.
Every 16 minutes someone dies in America from a gun. Many are suicides. Talk with your family re suicidal thoughts and gun safety.
And yes, thoughts and prayers are wonderful -- after you write those letters!! Democracy requires self responsibility and action on all our parts.
Doing nothing is a vote for the status quo.

guns, then I realized that it was probably just a typo & considering this is DU & the average age here you probably have never even heard the term thot.

I had posted an earlier rant a few days ago and had some folk respond saying yes the mass killings were painful but they did not what to think about guns. This post was an attempt to get people to realize they do have 'thots'!! When people tell me they do not know what to think about something, I tend to shove back.

It actually goes both ways for either gender. That's why I got a kick out of it. Everything nowadays is an acronym
