Could We See "Fast And Furious" The Sequel?

The NRA and GOP has made so much hay about Obama taking people's guns away using the "fast and furious" debacle. I wonder if they will spin this sad tragedy to claim that Obama will use that to take away everyone's gun. Now that there will be likely legislation to at least ban high volume magazines we will probably see the NRA and GOP go absolutely berserk.

Even say the word regulation and these people just go absolutely ballistic. Something clearly has to change. What is interesting is that the gunfire stopped. On our local news it was reported that there was a 100 round high volume clip that the police now think jammed in the AR-15. It makes you wonder if that was the last clip the shooter had on him and had used the others.

From what witnesses were saying the shooting stopped for no apparent reason. The police had not quite arrived yet and most of the shooting had occurred before they arrived. Eventually the police will have a better understanding of what clips were used and probably when. The existence of this super clip is puzzling. Why does anyone need so many rounds even for target practice?

So should any politician try to ban these kinds of clips we will see a battle royal and all the spitting and kicking politically will begin. And the counter argument will be that Obama is taking away your gun rights or Democrats are creating a police state. They will come out with some complete unintelligible gibberish like they always do. And we will hear all kinds of weeping and gnashing of teeth and nonsense.

It does not seem to matter how crazy, stupid, irrational, totally ridiculous a story the GOP and NRA makes up the media will carry it forward and attempt to make whatever is said as being true.

The fact that any segment of our population believes such lies and distortions makes matters even worse. And we can count on the GOP to use this sad affair for their own political ends.

Even now we are hearing calls that claim that an armed population in that theater would have gotten the shooter. And if he had the armor anything similar to the armor the robbers had a few years ago in California, it might have nearly taken a rocket propelled grenade to nail this sucker. If you remember that shoot out those guys took a lot of hits before they finally went down. I realize what I said might be over stated, but it looks like a regular hand gun would have not phased this guy. That is if you were a good enough shot to hit him and not everyone else during all the mayhem.

I cut the President a LOT of slack, knowing the knucklehead popularity he is up against.

Let's evaluate your threat level.

I mean, you have me to contend with. But I am notoriously unarmed.
