And Romney shows the stress. He does not fit in with the average American.

Only one problem. People will vote against Obama simply because they hate him. Those who think like that don't care how bad Romney is, how many times he lies, how many jobs he has outsourced through Bain, or whatever might be in those taxes.

Perhaps they will just not vote if they were to become disgusted with Romney, but I doubt that will happen.

14. "Them" staying home is the best possible outcome.

We need larger numbers in both houses, and they'd hand that to us by staying home and moping.

Hopefully, Romney has only begun to disappoint. Even though the Teahadii have hated him from the get-go, we need the "moderate" Republicans to stay home in droves, as well.

While I despair over the voter ID laws, those laws are disenfranchising many elderly people who would vote (R) against their own self-interest, and that's going to make a difference. We need to get everyone else registered, and all those 18-30 off the couch and into the voting booth.

Willard did us a huge favor with his speech at the NAACP convention - they're going to mobilize to defeat him. But there's still a lot of work to do.

This, for a lot of reasons, is the most important election of my lifetime.

The fact that 17% of respondents have said they won't vote for a Mormon isn't going to help them either.

Then I see these polls that insist that Obama and Romney are neck and neck, and I can't help but wonder who's being polled. Certainly not anyone I know, not many "brown" people and not very many women. The only group among which they should have substantial support is white men 45 and older - and we're not all with them either.

As I see it, Willard should be polling somewhere in the 30's.
