Chick-fil-A president: Gay marriage is ‘inviting God’s judgment on our nation’

Dan Cathy, the president and chief operating officer of popular fast food chain Chick-fil-A, said in a radio interview this week that legalizing same-sex marriage is “inviting God’s judgment on our nation.”

Appearing on “The Ken Coleman Show,” Cathy spoke of his company’s pride in its socially conservative character, but then offered an assessment of same-sex marriage that might lose the chain a few customers.

“I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,’” said Cathy.

“I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about,” he added.

The Gospel according to
St. Matthew

Judging Others
Lk. 6.3738, 4142
1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. Mk. 4.24
3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6 ¶ Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

It is based on his own business decision and not a government mandate. Having a day set aside either for worship or just rest is a good thing. Obviously he is a fruitcake on the rest.

Then goes on, after defining marriage, and suggests that God is gonna smite our gay-lovin' nation because we have the audacity to "define what marriage is about"

I think ole Danny boy should be thankful that so many folks support gay marriage. Cuz when God get to smiting us gay-lovin' varmints, there will be so much less traffic, and think of the parking advantages. I mean, he does - as a God fearing man - realize that a God so powerful can smite in individual doses with unquestionable accuracy. Or is he saying that God ain't good enough to smite like that? Hmmm...watch out for the lightning bolts, if not for questioning His almighty power, then for the murder of millions of his creatures for profit.
