Tim Pawlenty, national campaign chair for Mitt Romney, told MSNBC that John Sununu was right to walk back his earlier remark that President Obama needs to learn how to be an American.
Gov. Sununu made those comments earlier today, Pawlenty said. He then clarified and walked back those statements by saying he meant that President Obama really doesnt have a familiarity with what it means to be in the American entrepreneurial and private enterprise system and comments to that effect.
He added that I think he clarified it, and obviously, the governor has a knack for colorful language and can be very informative and entertaining. This one, he admitted perhaps he wasnt as clear as he should have been and issued a clarification. I think that was appropriate under the circumstances.

(2,940 posts)I wonder if he "has a knack for colorful language and can be very...entertaining" is the new "his remark was not intended to be a factual statement."

They have been set back on their heels so hard they are reduced to responding, they have lost the narrative, and are spinning out of control now.

(5,436 posts)As all repigs are required to do constantly, the lies just keep piling up on top of the previous lies.
How is needs to learn how to be an American similar in any way to "really doesnt have a familiarity with what it means to be in the American entrepreneurial and private enterprise system"?????
repigs MUST lie in everything they say or they are drummed out of the party.

(36,437 posts)This new bullshit statement about Obama being "unfamiliar" with a "entrepreneurial" system is now the operative statement.

(19,458 posts)Their message discipline is all over the place!!! Rush said that the President of the United States HATES America and was born to a communist and a leftist, and calls him a socialist and communist. Sunuunu said he's not an American, but now says he is ignorant of American Enterprise, and private sector. BUT Romney's camp put out an ad calling him a "crony CAPITALIST!"
They are coming apart at the seams, wildly throwing out accusations, and all speaking off message.
Wondering if the FAX machine at RNC is broken, because no one seems to be getting the same damn talking points.
And then you have McCain saying that Palin was more qualified to be VP than Romney, which means that Romney isn't even qualified for the #2 spot, but PALIN WAS???
John Stewart and Stephan Colbert must be loving life right now.. so much material. Though I feel sorry for the Onion, because this shit is making their stuff seem irrelevant.
