The Republican Party is corrupt
unwholesome, evil, awful, terrible, bad, bad and definitely bad; they suck. They just managed to kill the Disclose Act, even though there was a majority vote in favor of it.
They cannot be civic enough to let the American people be informed as to who is purchasing individuals in the legislature. They cannot be citizens enough to enable us to know who is buying our elections. The Republican Party: absolute anti-American, freedom hating evil-doers, we need to remove them from office and fumigate.

1. I am left of center

but I also know that politics is corrupt, not party specific... right now we are seeing more from one side, that is all.
And since I started covering local politics my cynicism has gone through the roof |

2. Exactly, a two sided problem, simply being better exploited by the right at the moment.

I got involved with the state party in 2008, and you're right about cynicism growing when you get into the meat and potatoes of political realities.

3. I agree, somewhat

The bottom line is the corruption is huge and ugly and the worst of it is from the Republican side. The wickedness is not equal. Doesn't say much for our political system, but it is important. They are not equal in evils. Seriously Democrats are the lesser of two evils.

read on party machines, if you don't believe me.
Lemme see... "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." |

4. Remember the "Chinagate" campaign finance controversy in '96?
|
Unbelievable that now Republicans have made that legal. Maybe not specifically legal but it might as well be. The superpacs can have all kinds of foreign money and we aren't allowed to know anything about it.
