Romney's Musical Jujitsu Fail (updated)

Romney's Musical Jujitsu Fail

by tjhoneycutt

So Mitt tried to turn the tables on the "Firms" killer ad with his own musical mockery copy cat ad on the "mittromney" channel on youtube. Apparently the Political Payoffs And Middle Class Layoffs clip is a musical montage of Obama crooning Al Greene's "I'm so in love with you"" to all the donors and lobbyists he serves as a "crony capitalist", or something.
The hilarious thing is that when you click on the clip you get a message "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by BMG_Rights_Management." Ain't capitalism a bitch?

2. See? Entitlement in action. Even I had to buy rights to use song lyrics in a book.

Any idiot knows that. But they think they're excluded because...beacause...HE'S MEAN!

Dear God, and these people think they can run a country???

19. More like, "They don't want to buy the country, they want a hostile takover."

How many hostile Right Wingers are now pissing off members of their own families?

When you think about it, "Hostile" describes a Right Winger perfectly.

Just ask relatives if they want that guy to get what he wants.

18. Their attitude is, "Wait to see if anyone wants to be paid and pay them then."

That's because the world where you go ask permission of someone before you take from them doesn't exist.

20. Republicans and their songs- Reagan "Born in the USA", Reagan "Little Pink Houses"

So Romney's campaign made yet another miscalculation in trying to use part of Al Green song
http://www.democraticunderground.com/1014168095

This is a great synopsis of the over-reach of Republicans when it comes to songshttp://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2010/06/stop-the-music-artists-demand-gopers-quit-playing-their-hits.php

Reagan picked a Springsteen song?!?!?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_in_the_U.S.A._(song)

Bob Dole tried to use "I'm a DOLE man".
Moore continued to tour through the 1990s. He released "I'm a Dole Man" in 1996, with the "Soul Man" lyrics rewritten, for Presidential candidate Bob Dole to play at voter rallies. The owners of "Soul Man"'s publishing rights did not agree with the claim that it was fair use of the song as a parody, and forced the campaign to stop using it.

Michelle Bachmann tried to use "An American Girl" (it is about a suicide) and Petty asked her to stop using it.
http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlepolitics/2011/06/28/tom-petty-to-michele-bachmann-stop-playing-my-song/

"I Won't Back Down" has been used by a variety of politicians. It drew a “cease and desist” letter when Bush used it in 2000.

Sarah Palin used "Barracuda" by Heart ---as with anything Palin related it was a miserable miscalculation and failure.
"Sarah Palin's views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song 'Barracuda' no longer be used to promote her image. The song 'Barracuda' was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The 'barracuda' represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there's irony in Republican strategists' choice to make use of it there."
http://www.boston.com/ae/music/blog/2008/09/heart_to_mccain.html

and McCain with Jackson Browne's "Running on Empty". First do you want people to think that you are RUNNING ON EMPTY!?!?!. Second Jackson Browne unrelently sued McCain's campaign.
