...yet Romney's campaign has been woefully unprepared for what has been revealed (or not revealed!) about his tax returns, his days at Bain Capital, his lack of likeability, and his shape-shifting stances on issues, over time.
I mean, for crying out loud, I saw a headline from Fox News this morning that basically said, 'Romney has only himself to blame for Obama's Bain trap." Fox News! Liberals and conservatives alike don't trust the man, at the very least.
I knew Romney would be the presumptive nominee. I just didn't realize just how laughably bad a campaign he would run. Maybe it's not hm, though; maybe it's the sorry state of the Republican Party that is to blame.

I'm sure Romney has the highest paid political strategists, but has no idea who to hire to fix his campaign.

(32,886 posts)I am convinced that the Romney campaign thinks it has bought up or can/will buy up virtually every piece of adspace starting after the conventions. That is when they thought the campaigning would start in earnest.
They are/were not ready for a July blitz.
Beware the September/October/November torrent of Romney attack ads though.

He figured he survived it twice 1994 & 2006, so piece of cake.
But the difference is that back then it was at the state level and with lesser resources to bring to bear. He ultimately lost the 1994 effort but vowed to do better hiding and manipulating his activities, which allowed him to win the governorship the next time out. Now he's facing a national scene and way more resources being brought to bear.
The irony is that his successor was Deval Patrick, who Axelrod helped to win the seat.

It's hard to believe that it's been four years since McCain picked
Palin, and that was funny and idiotic too.
