One County making the quota isn't going to result in 540,208 valid signatures being turned in to force Governor Walker to face a recall election. But I'm awfully proud of our local volunteers.
Our target, handed down from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is 6,000 signatures.
As of yesterday morning, we were at 11,000 and counting.
And we're still working hard at it!
Way to go Fond du Lac County Recall Walker volunteers!!!

(27,985 posts)I do not have #'s from Waukesha, but I do know we're not doing to badly here, either. Which is pretty amazing.
Thanks for all of your hard work, Scuba!!

(27,985 posts)It's typically not the ones collecting, though we have to sign our name on every petition, so we do 'check' them.
No Mickey Mouses, nor Adloph Hilters on the dozens I've turned in!!

(9,612 posts)Newty-toot is the perfect example of what happens when people don't bother to check their petition signatures before they think they've made the goal.

(9,612 posts)11,000 verified signatures is as good as 15,000 unverified (or better)! Congratulations, that's really an achievement if your goal was just 6,000!
Keep up the good work.

(198 posts)I have found that Fond du Lac County has among the most active and informed progressives, and among the most primative of recently moved out of the cave Neanderthals, found anywhere in the U.S.

(53,475 posts)... was a six-foot circle around my father.
Back in the early 70's the Fondy Chamber decided to try to attract some business, so they ran a full-page ad in a Chicago newspaper.
The add featured a photo of an obviously "hippie" couple with the caption: Fond du Lac's not for everybody".

(9,124 posts)Labels (Neanderthals) aren't a good thing.... and he might be your relative, LOL. It's much more complex then that, the area is an old, old, settlement, it's diverse manufacturing, white collar, and farming, a larger population city (believe it or not) for the area which draws out the youngin' to the big city, and now spill from Milwaukee.
though...
you might want to avoid the PBR signs
Fon du lac county voted about 24,000 to to 13,000 overwhelmingly for Walker...
Scuba dooba do and company is doing an awesome job.
