One of the reasons I love Biden...

Somebody who knows, please fill in the real details - all I remember is Joe getting into trouble because of his reply . . .

Some sort of disease/sickness was going around a couple of years ago, and Joe replied to a question about that illness - that he wouldn't let his family fly on a plane with that stuff going around . . .

An honest man - how did he ever get into politics?

It's one of the reasons that Joe is becoming more popular with the base than he was before he was VP...(and that's an f'n big deal)

He is squeaky honest, and doesn't play those political games. I remember when he "announced" his candidacy in 2008. All the other candidates who hadn't announced were playing coy, "right now I'm concentrating on my job as...". Biden was on Bill Maher and Maher said "there have been rumors of you throwing your hat into the ring, but I suppose we'll have to wait to find out...". Biden said, "yeah, I am". REALLY low key. Maher goes "what???? You just said you're going to run for President????". And Biden said yeah, I am. Malmost humble. Biden humble! :

No games, no political bullshit, just the truth, ma'am.

He's had to tone it down now that he's VPOTUS because he's speaking for the administration, not just for Joe Biden anymore. I frankly thought he'd have a real hard time doing that, but he's been remarkable in the position.

I love the guy.

I watched him on CSpan (9/10/01) the night before the Towers were hit - and his speech was about terrorism - how we needed more protection because of ships, trucks, and all kinds of ways we could be attacked other than by missiles, etc., and we weren't prepared... he really scared me because he was really serious....

Next day the planes hit the towers..

Joe had and has vision...

plus he's cute as a puppy and lovable.

Oh, I posted this once before and someone was kind enough to either post the speech or a link...can't remember...

"gaffe/plagiarism" memes about Joe. When the Kinnock story made it into the mainstream news I asked my friend "who is Joe Biden?" and he said, seem asshole Senator who plagiarizes all the time.

So when I first heard his name mentioned as a possibility in 2008, I thought "are they dragging this loser out again?". I don't recall how/where I saw him for the first time that made me go "hmmmmmm" but I know it was before the debates began. Maybe it was on Bill Maher when he low-key announced he was going to throw his hat in the ring.

I paid attention during the debates, and that may have been when I found DU, but Joe definitely wasn't a favorite here by any means. During the course of the debates and just seeing Joe and the others, he emerged, in my mind, as the one who could best lead our country.

The story you tell is yet another example of Joe Is Right. He's a pretty amazing guy. He GETS it.

He speaks our lingo, he can relate. he doesn't condescend and talk down to voters, he connects and communicates.
