Yes, I know that they'll never resemble anything approaching decent human beings, they won't even try.
The fact that these fuckers have been given free reign to screw this country's pooch to high heaven really says a lot about how fucked up America is. I'm sorry, but there it is.

5. Cute. Actually, "rein" is acceptable in the context, but "reign" is more appropriate.

Oops, already did that. We could let them set up a completely fraudulent economic policy called "trickle down" for 30 years -- oops, been there done that. We could insist it's in our interest to work with them -- oops, still doing it.
