Gated Community Theory of the Universe

Gated Community Theory of the Universe
The survival of the fittest (and most selfish) individual is a fictional conceit from Hollywood's Westerns and novelists like Louis L'Amour.

The solution to everything, the GOP seems to be saying, is that the wealthy need to retreat into gated communities and withdraw from any relationship to the rest of society.

The money they make now is what they will have to survive on as the scenario painted in the Mad Max movies comes into play.

The question in this election is whether you believe that the future is about the community gathering all its best resources, including its energy and intellect, and working together - versus - all those better off withdraw from having to associate with the losers or waste any money ocntributing to their welfare and wait in seclusion for Rapture.

My take on it is that the human race, at its worst survival tests along the past 200,000 years, have risen to the challenge through cooperative problem solving.

If they balk, there will be 300+ million pairs of hands hauling their asses
back on board. Additionally, it will be less about the gathering hordes
and more about empty aquifers and barely breathable atmosphere!
Just sayin'...
