Rmoney is already altering word recognition patterns.

I noticed this while reading an article that mentioned Mitt Romney several times. My mind kept saying "R-Money" as I read "Romney".

This reminded me of the Cambridge University study about our ability to recognize misspelled words:
-----
MIPELLSSED WDORS
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosnít mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a total mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh?

The fact that "money" is already an established pattern in our minds combined with the spelling "Rmoney" being repeated on websites is establishing the misspelling as a viable alternative to "Romney".

Fnuny, rgiht?

2. That gentleman surely deserves a bronze statue be erected in his honor -- somewhere.

Maybe Liberty University or Bob Jones University. It has to be exactly faithful to the original, of course. And minatures of it could be sold in the gift shop, with maybe a version with a clock in his belly. Oh, and bobbleheads for the dashboard.

The man is an industry waiting to happen.

3. Since Faux is so fond of misspellings in their captions and crawls

how long before an "Rmoney" slips in there somewhere?

Or on MSNBC or CNN or the NYT or whoever?

It'll happen.

7. Yeah, the original Photoshop was done by EarlG of here.

I keep emailing Snopes to get them to acknowledge that EarlG was the first.

6. I've had to correct several typos. Rmoney seems to flow from brain to fingers to keyboard

without any effort on my part.

Weird. Maybe there's something to what you say.
