While it is true that he represents the most dickheaded parts of the state, Sen. Kirk's staff was and is still pretty forthcoming about his condition and progress. As soon as his family got the diagnosis and prognosis, press releases were issued.

Kirk did initially check into a Lake Forest hospital under the name of "Hillel Underwood" when suffering from dizziness and headaches. When he was transferred for brain surgery, he was admitted to Northwestern under his own name.

While I have no idea what is going on with Rep. Jackson, the press releases from his staff have all the buzz words that PR pros use in one of three cases: rehab, nervous breakdown, or self harm. The lack of whispers and leaks indicates that most of the Chicago office staff has not even been told what is going on.

Never really heard.

He might have been smoking crack with his mistress for all we know.

About the only people I have heard of checking into a hospital using an alias were hiding something.

She once said she could destroy Al Franken, with stuff she knows about him, but out of the goodness of her heart she decided not to. She said this BEFORE his election she said it on the radio.

had jus read this earlier, where JJ Sr said they weren't going to comment and Dick Durban saying he needed to offer more info:

Sen. Dick Durbin, the senior Democrat in Illinois, told reporters yesterday that the congressman should disclose more information about his condition.

"As a public official ... there reaches a point when you have a responsibility to tell people what you're facing and how things are going," said Durbin, the No. 2 Democrat in the Senate.

Durbin said yesterday that the time is coming soon for Jackson or his office "to report on his situation," according to our friend Katherine Skiba of the Chicago Tribune.

She didn't realize the sources were breitbart types and she didn't trust their info. She also said she'd wait for confirmation one way or another from a better source.

I seem to remember his name mentioned when Blaggy was trying to sell Obama's senate seat. That was my first thought Cat when I saw your post. I hope that's not a contributing factor in what's going on in his life and wish him well.
