Bidens vacation in Rehoboth Beach
REHOBOTH BEACH -- With the Fourth of July on a Wednesday, many people made the decision to take a few days off after the holiday and give themselves a long weekend.
Vice President Joe Biden was among them.
The vice president and his wife, Jill Biden, made the trip to Rehoboth Beach on Thursday and will stay at "The Nation's Summer Capital" until Sunday.
According to the White House, the vice president has no public events scheduled during his stay. A staff member for Biden said he was unavailable for interviews during his personal vacation.
While in town, Jill Biden made an appearance at Browseabout Books on Rehoboth Avenue, signing copies of her new children's book, "Don't Forget, God Bless Our Troops."
The second lady's book, illustrated by Raúl Colón, tells the story through a child's eyes of what family life is like when a parent is abroad at war. Inspiration for the story came from her granddaughter, Natalie.
