Right out loud at TeaParty.org
We need to establish a D-DAY and hold to it!est. assemble points and storage points for weapons outside of D.C. Traveling from the south all states up to D.C. are CWP states , therefor VA. is the nearest the W.H. and should have the arms stored near the northern VA. border and shuttled to us after we establish our position at the W.H. Obama should be taken into custody first and work down from there. VP, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the traitors. NO VIOLENCE. Call for arms only when absolutely needed. This is a peaceful, bloodless citizens revolt and may be our last chance to save our nation. They may try to stop us but I don't think they are up for it!! As soon as we begin we should concentrate on rapid action with custody teams assigned to each pol. Not just libs, but cons. as well who have worked for the downfall of OUR COUNTRY. Let's have a planning session soon. whoever is the MFWIC must send out a notice two weeks before the meet. Let's GO !! xxxxx
http://teapartyorg.ning.com/forum/topics/they-took-our-freedoms-away-from-us-who-why-what-can-we-do?xg_source=activity&id=4301673%3ATopic%3A791569&page=11#comments
Right on! NO VIOLENCE as they peacefully take the government into custody.
This is the same nitwit that the Secret Service visited before. After the ruling this week I just got curious about how they were handling it so I peeked in and holy moley, they are all so phreaking nuts. Some will look for help from county sheriffs and some are trading email so spies (ahem) won't know their plans.
I have sent a request to our Governor, asking that he pass a law to protect our privacy on line. We need to get a class action suit against Google and Government to block the harassment and spying. We all need to break out our old CB radios for local comm, and sign up for private email accounts or a message board that does not broadcast our messages. Is there a lawyer on this site that would help? They have been messing with my connection since last night. This is first time I have been able to get here since!
So. Everyone be on the look out for Custody Teams, I guess?

If my response is not printed in public forums (note the passive voice) then our enemies can't exactly hold us accountable; at least not and until their takeover becomes solidified. I know that by exposing my e-mail site I'm open to all sorts of mischief but someone has to step up and take a reasonable chance; besides I have a virtually impenetrable Mac, the delete button of which works admirably and in a few weeks unless we start to regain our Nation, much won't matter anymore.!

(14,180 posts)a sentence is placed where the natural object of a sentence would appear, were the writer using the 'active voice.' (I used the passive voice in the preceding sentence, but am using the active voice in this parenthetical sentence. If I were using the passive voice on the first parenthetical sentence, I would have written, "The passive voice was used by me in the preceding sentence, but the active voice is being used in this parenthetical sentence."
Gramatically, the passive is formed by a conjugated form of the verb 'to be,' the past participle of the action verb, 'by' and the subject of the sentence. (See how 'is formed' is a passive construction?)
Writers and critics tend to view the passive voice as weaker stylistically, because the reader must wait until the end of the sentence to find out the subject of the sentence. About the only argument for using the passive voice is when the writer wishes to emphasisze the object by putting it first in the sentence. The passive voice makes for flabby writing.
Please note that passive voice has NOTHING to do with verb tense necessarily. One can use past passive, present passive or future passive. Or perhaps I should say, "The passive voice was used at certain points in the past, is being used at the moment and will be used at some point in the future"
freshwest
(53,661 posts)Is that designed to be a legal defense? Or is the whole thing a hoax?
coalition_unwilling
(14,180 posts)that the passive voice allows for the subject (or agent) of an action to hide and escape responsibility (another reason I think the passive voice is a poor choice stylistically).
See, for example, this sentence in the future passive: "The government will be overthown." Notice how this gramatically perfect sentence has no agent? You do not know who will overthrow the government, just that it will be overthrown. Now the audience may well understand the actor to be the Teabap Pretend Putschists, but the sentence itself does not convey that information.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voile
Voile is a soft, sheer fabric, usually made of 100% cotton or cotton blends including linen or polyester. The term comes from French, and means veil. Because of its light weight, the fabric is mostly used in soft furnishing. Full-length curtains in hot countries are made with voile and used as window treatments, mosquito nets etc. When used as curtain material they are similar to net curtains.

(96,793 posts)Why is it that everyone stops short of the only thing that will save this country. We have seen that continued debate only ends in compromise. The fathers of this country said that in order to stay free, from time to time blood would have to be spilled. Those evemies to our freedom would have to be put down. We listen to lies and Misinformation, about the military rising up to restore the constitution from an idiot who claims to be from the pentagon. Only to find the pentagon has gone gay! So you can give any hope of Godly decisions coming from these who have infiltrated every aspect of our once great country.
When you provide people with great deals of cash they turn from God. They no longer depend on good judgement. This country has been taken over. It is the beast from the abiss, that has turned against every Godly principle. You think that one politician will restore what was stolen? You think those in power will give one ounce of it when they get into the position?
If we had good governors, who would oppose this evil, suseed and take the power from this beast, make once again the people SOLVERN! And the government a servant to the people, instead of their master. Then we would have a chance. But we would have to chance the loss of all we have, including our lives. Are you willing to commit to that?or are you just talk! This is the question too all who complain! Soon we will be on the run, if we do nothing!

There are millions of people, not all listening the same guys there, but this is a lot like Infowars. Scratch the surface of a Paulite or Bagger, there it is. The alternative reality that some have mentioned.
We have a lot of freedom in this country to indulge in wackiness. Like I said, that was the tip of the iceberg. I've heard that talk for years checking out sites with internet radio.
We even get articles posted that are off some sources, like Craig Paul Roberts. Want to hear hero worship? Listen to Alex Jones talk to this guy, the Father of Reaganomics is the Second Coming. And you don't even want me to post the films that they've made about Obama...
And yeah, they feel completely justified. Welcome to the world of conspiracy talk and it can be entertaining as well as very frightening stuff. A third of the people buy this, and we thought M$M was bad...

This has been going on for years. I just researched this for a while. You have to know the language of the people you're talking with to find common ground if they're not too far down the rabbit hole. I used to think that, now I don't bother.

I am totally upset with the fact that Justice Kagan did not recluse herself from this issue since she was part of the legal counsel for Obama that was involved in the writing of the Health Bill. That was a major conflict of interest and she should be removed from the Supreme Court for her failure to do so. Had she not been on the court and voting illegally the bill would not have passed. The Congress failed to address this issue which should ahve been done before the hearings in March. For this I blame the Republicans in the House for allowing this to take place without a challenge. They will go after Eric Holder but not Kagan. I will be making another to the range to practice my shooting abilities and to the ammo store to add to my stock pile of expendable projectiles. Apart from Slayer's quite devastating point, those of us who have been there, who have seen combat up close and personal, question why anyone would wish that upon our fellow and sister Americans.
Apart from the other craziness, THAT is what I will never fucking get. Death and maiming in our families would be a good thing? Just because we have a black guy in the Oval Office? As much as we like to slam Pharmaceuticals, I think there are some people who could use a few more...

I think of some of the lines and some of the situations and I have to grin just a little bit. Right now I'm thinking of Parker Fennelly slurping his coffee. He turns around surprised and says "Muriel! Whatcha doin' up there on the wall?" Everyone in the cast contributed something positive. I'll have to watch this again soon.
Ed: I just noticed I put this reply in the wrong place. It was meant to be a reply to #157. Sorry.

(13,616 posts)Two: Even though the army has better weaponry, that does not always translate into power. Ask the Viet Cong, for that matter, ask the Afghanis, even better, ask the relatives of soldiers that used space-age tech against stone age tech, only to fall to stone age tech. When an army invades, the local knowledge of an area will cut down advanced tech's advantage, especially as, let us be frank, a lot of these creeps ALREADY have bases and weapons stockpiles. Religion is a weapon of mass destruction, because it convinces people that death can equal victory, and sad to say, it often works. The clergy will do a fine job of subverting our soldiers, as well as outright spying.
Three: Foreign influence. Let's face it, a lot of folks around the world LOVE a second civil war. Just like they did the first time, the French and British would see it as a chance to tamp down America by arming the Rebels. As far as Latin America goes, many would love the chance to pay America back by making things get ugly. The Mexican cartels could wrap themselves in the flag, claiming they are helping get back parts of "Aztlan". They can actually unite the Che style politicos and intellectuals, with the Military trained and equipped cartel militias, a dream that many have had. And of course, let us not forget the Chinese and the Jihadi. Both of them have a LOT of money to throw around, and they know how to be subtle.

(31,849 posts)These guys are living in a fantasy world.
A couple of years ago (2010), I went to visit my Mom for her birthday. My sister brought her fox"news" watching, limbaugh listening, SWAT Team member Deputy Sheriff of a boyfriend to the birthday dinner. (Yeah ... I know!)
One topic led to another until he brought up the paranoid, " President) Obama is gonna try and take away our guns so that he can turn this nation into a dictatorship" narrative.
That's when I had had enough, so I asked him:
Me: "If what you say is true, and President Obama plans to turn this nation into a dictatorship, what good will your weapons do?"
Him: "What do you mean? That's why we must stay armed and ready."
Me: "Okay ... You're a SWAT cop, right?
Him: "Yep. Best job I've ever had."
Me: "So you go up against some pretty hairy situations against some pretty heavily armed bad guys. Right?
Him: "Yep ... {And he tells me in detail about a time when they raided a major meth/cocaine operation. He told about how inside the building there were 20 gang members, armed with fully automatic weapons ... I could have sworn he was getting erect, under the table, in re-telling the story}."
Me: "Wow ... That must have been pretty intense. But let me ask you ... was there any doubt, by any member of your team, that at the end of the day, you guys were going to walk out of that building with every single gun and the bad guys would be either arrested or dead?"
Him: "Nope ... We planned the operation down to the last detail plus we know what we're doing."
Me: "Okay ... Again, given your experience on SWAT, what good will your guns do?"
I still don't think he got my point because he stopped speaking to me.

(17,493 posts)One truth about the internet is that you can find a number of people who agree with your views no matter how far out they might be. Consequently you may falsely feel that a large number of people agree with you.
We are living through tough economic times. The middle class is becoming endangered and the rich are growing even more wealthy. The War on Drugs was lost decades ago but we continue to fight a losing battle against criminal drug organizations that are growing more powerful and dangerous. We send our young men and women all over the world to fight in questionable wars that largely lack public support. Our healthcare system is the most expensive in the world but far from the best and the recent passage of "ObamaCare" might conceivably make it even more expensive and possibly less effective. Our educational system at the high school level is hardly world class and while our colleges are excellent they are extremely expensive. We have an irrational immigration policy and our companies often treat illegal immigrants as a modern slave class to be abused.
The war on terror has led our government to take measures that many view as a loss of our rights to privacy and the destruction of many of the rights the founding fathers gave us.
The people we elect to office often appear to be bought and owned by the big corporations and both parties bicker and fight with each other like children in an unsupervised playground. Political campaigns begin early, are extremely expensive and fill the airwaves with negative political advertisements that while effective turn off many viewers. Compromising is a lost art between the two major political parties especially since the Tea Party became a powerful voice in the Republican Party. Currently Congress has only a 22% approval rating.
It's extremely difficult to find work if you are young or have lost your job. College graduates are returning to their parent's homes and often are lucky to find a job flipping hamburgers. The rate of new job creation is not matching even the number of new people entering the work force.
House prices have collapsed and many home owners find their mortgage underwater with the amount they owe far exceeding the value of their home. Many homeowners have lost their homes to foreclosure. Consumer confidence is low and not improving, consequently businesses faced with this factor and uncertainty about the cost of healthcare are reluctant to hire.
Obviously we are going through a tough stage of our history and it is not surprising that a few loons will decide to something extremely foolish. Fortunately the idea of taking control of our government has little support from the majority of our citizens.
What I fear is that if these idiots are armed and actually try to take over the government their efforts will cause a push for draconian gun control. If so, this might well lead to a much more dangerous level of dissatisfaction with our government and might enable the Republicans to gain control of the Presidency and both houses of Congress.
A study of our history will show many times in the past we have faced and overcame extremely difficult situations without violence. There have been some armed rebellions before and they all failed and our form of representative democracy survived.
I have faith in our system of government and I feel we have better days in our future. It's a fond belief of gun owners that their weapons might aid in an overthrow of a real dictatorship and while possible this is debatable. One thing that is certain is that for any rebellion to be successful, unless launched by a nation's military, a large percentage or a majority of the population has to be involved. In such cases, often a non-violent unarmed uprising will prevail.
I personally feel that this fool and any of his friends will be carefully watched and any threat they pose will be nipped in the bud.

(466 posts)I still thing we have a long way to go before people consider raising arms in a civil war.
I do believe our country is the most divided its ever been since the Civil War, but people may have thought the same thing during the 60's.
In my opinion, things are getting better. I just think the country is going through some growing pains while it adapts to a much more globalized environment.

It was far from my objective to paint a bleak picture of our future as a nation. I actually feel that our nation has an exceptionally resilient form of government due to the wisdom of the Founders and because of this we will see far better days.
A rebellion or civil war would only be successful if a high percentage of the people in an area of our nation or the entire nation would support it. Even then it would be fair to debate if it would succeed as without the support of our military and our police forces it would likely fail.
To gain such national support such an uprising would require the loss of most of our freedoms and the rule of a dictator or a truly tyrannical government.
As you mention in your reply we have "have a long way to go before people consider raising arms in a civil war." I agree.
That doesn't eliminate the possibility that a relatively small group of individuals who believe that they have strong support might try something foolish. It would be best if they were detected early before they caused a tragedy.

(466 posts)The problems you listed that still harm this country (housing, young unemployment, general uncertainty, etc).
There may indeed be people crazy enough to rebel, but I'd hope they could be dealt with effectively. I admit it might look bad if they were violently put down. Justified as it may be, could cause a domino effect of people saying, "hey, look at those fascists killing our citizens!"

It's the absolute epicenter of passive-aggressiveness. Every other post is always "I'm going to do this and this... you know... when the time comes!"
Yet somehow, right now, according to them, the government needs to be overthrown immediately.
Basically, they're Cheeto-munching losers who live in mom's basement. The only activity they ever do is go to the firing range, and have GI Joe fantasies of UN invasions while playing with themselves to repeats of "Red Dawn." They could shoot a gun, but they probably can't sprint (listing any amount of distance here would be irrelevant) without letting out a few nasally whines and retreating back into their mom's basement with their computer that's filled with porn and World of Warcraft stuff."

Excerpt from the article:
A list of comments labeled 'Hilarious Reactions to the High Court's Ruling' on a liberal website are not remotely humorous, and only serve to inspire more hatred toward President Obama among stupid Americans who lack the ability to discern between a legally passed law upheld by the High Court and tyranny against the citizens of the United States.
