Bachmann Accuses Holder of Putting Guns into the Hands of 'Mexican Terrorists' to Take Away Americans' 2nd Amendment Rights

By Heather

http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/bachmann-accuses-holder-putting-guns-hands

Fox is always terrible when it comes to letting little Joe McCarthy Jr. Bachmann run amok with wild accusations against the Obama administration, but this one with Uma Pemmaraju from this Saturday's America's News Headquarters was particularly awful. Bachmann is now calling the Mexican drug cartels "terrorists." She's pretending that Republicans have an ounce of concern for gun control or that the problem with the guns showing up in Mexico is not something they and the NRA have created themselves with terribly weak gun control laws.

BACHMANN: It has to because no man is above the law. It doesn't matter if you're a janitor in a church basement or if you're the President of the United States. All of us have to be under the law and the same is true for Eric Holder. Eric Holder's problem is that he got found out, pure and simple. He got found out.

He was running a political program and putting thousands of dangerous guns in the hands of terrorists in Mexico for the purpose of trying to take away our 2nd Amendment rights from us. That trap got sprung and everyone found out that Eric Holder was associated with it. And so now he's not going to give any answers to Congress. He can't do that.

And the President of the United States is pulling the same thing. He's asserting executive privilege. Well, the President isn't above the law either. This is a very real issue. This isn't political. This is legal and it looks like Eric Holder is in major trouble and unfortunately President Obama is trying to cover him on this. This is a serious, serious crime that appears to have taken place, or a serious issue I should say, and it's something that needs to be addressed.

2. Hey, Michele, you complete dumbass, read this:

And FOX "news" too, you cess pool of lies:

Across administrations of both political parties, the longstanding position of the Department of Justice has been and remains that we will not prosecute an Executive Branch official under the contempt of Congress statute for withholding subpoenaed documents pursuant to a presidential assertion of executive privilege. The fullest explanation of the legal basis for the Department's position was provided during the Reagan Administration by Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel Theodore Olsen. Mr. Olson's opinion explained that "the contempt of Congress statute was not intended to apply and could not be constitutionally applied to an Executive Branch official who asserts the President's claim of executive privilege."

The Department relied on this longstanding position in 2008, during the George W. Bush administration, when it declined to prosecute two White House officials who were the subject of a contempt of Congress referral from the House of Representatives. Attorney General Michael Mukasey informed Speaker Nancy Pelosi that, in accord with "the Department of Justice's longstanding position taken during Administration's of both parties, ... the Department has determined that non-compliance by (the White House officials) with the Judiciary Committee subpoenas did not constitute a crime, and therefore the Department will not bring the congressional contempt citations before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute (them)."

Consistent with this uniform position and practice, the Department has determined that the Attorney General's response to the subpoena issued by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform does not constitute a crime, and therefore the Department will not bring the congressional contempt citation before a grand jury or take any other action to prosecute the Attorney General.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss this matter further.

Sincerely,
James M. Cole
Deputy Attorney General

I just love posting that excerpt.

3. Few people on DU can deliver an OP subject like you

My take on this entire mess is that ReTHUGs and their NRA friends must have been making a bag of effing money selling these deadly weapons to Mexican gangs - it's all fugging projection as usual.

9. I'm going to go ahead and fix this for her, so it is reflective of ACTUAL history...

corrections are in (parenthenses)...

BACHMANN: It has to because no man is above the law. It doesn't matter if you're a janitor in a church basement or if you're the President of the United States. All of us have to be under the law and the same is true for (President George W. Bush). (President George W. Bush's) problem is that he got found out, pure and simple. He got found out.

He was running a political program and putting (dozens) of dangerous (lies) in the hands of (professional, PAID propagandists) in (the National Media )for the purpose of trying to take away our (right to self-governance as it relates to how this Nation decides how, and when, we go to war, who we go to war with, and the Moral and Ethical standards by which that war is waged). (Those lies got exposed) and everyone found out that (President George W. Bush) was associated with it. And so now he's not going to give any answers to Congress. He can't do that.

You're welcome for that, Michelle. I'll be expecting a Christmas Card this year.

16. Next week she's on Piers Morgan

They've been announcing it all week-end on CNN. They are saying that she will announce her plan to rally conservatives ahead of the election. Hopefully we'll get a little entertainment out of the interview.

And besides - where were you in the 80's when Oliver North pulled the same crap?
