Roger Cohen writes about the Trump-Merkel meeting a couple of weeks ago:
When Donald Trump met Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany earlier this month, he put on one of his most truculent and ignorant performances. He wanted moneypiles of itfor Germany's defense, raged about the financial killing China was making from last year's Paris climate accord and kept "frequently and brutally changing the subject when not interested, which was the case with the European Union."
Trump's preparedness was roughly that of a fourth grader Trump knew nothing of the proposed European-American deal known as the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, little about Russian aggression in Ukraine or the Minsk agreements, and was so scatterbrained that German officials concluded that the president's daughter Ivanka, who had no formal reason to be there, was the more prepared and helpful.

Poor America.
What an ass.
How did this happen?

(10,252 posts)recognition that Trump is a petulant asshole, almost sorry for him. Certainly sorry that he missed an opportunity to gain a friend, who has more than a little experience governing, leading, and persuading people in politics. Oh well ... if he won't shake hands, more's the loss and pity for him. Too bad, so sad.

(17,276 posts)and that is being the con-man and bait-and-switch salesman. Once people are on to him, he moves on to someone else.
He's a fool. And the world knows it. And most of America knows it.
He will continue to entertain the media, but that's about all he's going to be good for.
It actually has reduced my anxiety level over politics. The GOP machine is broken and a bozo is at the head of it.

(12,882 posts)But with Sir Idiot now acting himself on the world stage - why do we hear of more and more deals to develop more properties with his name prominently featured on them? You'd hafta think a Three Stooges restaurant chain would do a burgeoning business!

(10,252 posts)That is a very excellent point to remember. The GOP led by Trump will stumble over their own shoe laces every time. As we go forward, more and more people will have nothing but contempt for the whole lot of them.

(959 posts)so it's time to move on. The orange anus has zero interest in this now, that's obvious. He can't be bothered to even appear human now. He is ready to move onto the next batch of rubes to fleece. Unfortunately for him, this little escapade is not just a few angry investors, or an unpaid contractor. THIS crap is on the WORLD stage, and he is exposed totally, no non-disclosures or mob lawyers can help get him out of this. He's toast.

(1,008 posts)I still can't get past the fact that 62 million of us wanted this freak show. Worse, his obsequious base is still thrilled with their ignorant, corrupt plutocrat.
Dumping the Trump won't fix that kind of crazy.

he's not that bright and all those around him know this, but fear saying this due to his explosive violent temper.
I still believe he's in the early stages of dementia

(36,457 posts)I can't believe how many thought he'd actually made a turn & was going to be presidential. All because he managed to give one speech. And how long did it last? Two days? One?
