The top Republican in Congress on Tuesday stood by Devin Nunes, the embattled head of the House of Representatives intelligence committee, who is under fire for his handling of an investigation into possible Russian ties to President Donald Trumps election campaign.
House Speaker Paul Ryan told a news conference he does not believe Nunes, a Trump ally, should remove himself from the investigation.
Asked whether Nunes should step aside and if he knew the source of information that Nunes revealed last week, Ryan said: No and no.
Democrats and some Republicans have criticized Nunes objectivity after he announced last week that some Trump associates may have been ensnared in incidental intelligence collection before Trump took office in January.

(21,946 posts)they can.
That doesn't work too good.
Ask Capone
Ask the Union boss who disappeared (can't think of his name)
Ask Hitler
Ask Stalin and any other Russian dictators
Ask the Romanov family
Ask Mussolini
Ask any despotic bunch
It just doesn't work in the long run. In this day and age and communications being what they are, the old methods for those kinds buckle fairly fast.

The repigs are stopping the investigation or may be just this public forum. Keeping American citizens in the dark is very dangerous, thanks to some on TV cable stations like to report the news and keep the citizens informed.
