Let the violence begin.

Early Thursday afternoon a 79-year-old woman called police about her son (59) who had smashed a television and was destroying other things inside their home. More information at the link.

The timing of his tirade is suspicious, occurring within four hours of the Supreme Court AHC ruling.

Is anyone aware of similar violent outbursts in the wake of Thursday's announcement ? I am not suggesting causal relationship, merely temporal.

1. Well I'm sure a lot of things happened within 4 hours of the ruling that are unrelated

to it. How many people actually pay attention to the Court's decisions?

6. Very true. Something causes it.

I am looking for those in a very narrow time-bound. Those I am interested in knowing more about.

3. Where in the nooz story the ACA ruling mentioned?

Didn't find it. You know there are other reasons why people lose it.

4. As of now, relationship is temporal only.

That is why I am asking if there are any other such temporal coincidences nationwide. A cluster of coincidences tells you to look deeper.

This investigation will be turned over to the grand jury who will find the police acted properly. There will be no discussion as to why the incident occurred.
I know the area, I know people who live in the area. I will listen around--asking serves only to seal lips.

It may well be a one-off outburst totally unrelated to anything else.

7. I don't wish for it.

Just be on the lookout for it. and if it is close-by, keep your head down.

In this incident, there will be no more official word until after the grand jury meets. The grand jury will find the officers acted properly.

What we know from the news report: The man was busting up the inside of his mother's house (including the television) and his mother, with fear in her voice, called the police. Several police arrived, he met them outside the house, armed. Gunfight ensued, he lost.

only this guy went high-order. I can't imagine he went silently--but what he said, if he said, is not in the news report.

13. What's really funny...or maybe not...

...is that our VA health care, which is rated as good or better than any private, civilian health care, continues to be targeted by RW pols for 'privatization'--something that would destroy the effective, high-quality health system we have.

We have plenty of valid complaints about the VA's claims process--but our VA health care system is among the best, if not the best, in the world.

That 'socialized medicine' really sucks, doesn't it?

28. It appears the RW really wants desperately for the country to collapse. Many of them

would throw themselves into horrible situations. It's not like all of the RW are billionaires, they just have this fantasy that they are.

Additionally, IMO, they want to watch other people in despair and suffering, I'm convinced of that anymore. For many it has little to do with improving the country, they just want to witness despair and suffering, even inflecting it upon themselves. What strange warped times we live in ...

12. It is that much of a leap

Why not just assume that he smash the TV and other things in the house because he was pissed that the House was deciding whether or not to find Holder in contempt?

Why not assume that he lost his job?

Why not assume that he got bad news at the doctor?

Why not assume that he was watching TV and got mad because his favorite team lost the game?

Why not assume he saw some Republican jerk like Issa on TV, and got mad about that?

Why not assume that he may have seen for the umpteenth time someone accuse Obama of not being a citizen?

Better yet why assume it's anything? The news report listed absolutely nothing.

14. Not really.

1. We know the Affordable Care Act decision was announced shortly after 9:00 AM CDT. He became enraged and busted up the inside of the house sometime before the police were called around 1:30 pm, CDT. We don't know what caused him to become enraged. Could have been ACA, could have been some other trigger. He was dead before they voted on Holder.

2. The report is silent on his employment situation.

3. Bad news from the doctor could bring on a "suicide by cop" situation. This guy threatened his mother first, so that is unlikely.

4. On Thursday morning? Who plays on Thursday morning?

5. In the same vein--why wait 'til now to get mad about Issa. He's been a jerk all along.

6. Really? Get in a gunfight with the cops over that? Really? That can make you really angry, but, draw down on a bunch of cops?

7. Yes, the report was silent on what sent him over the edge. Which is why I did not assign a causal relationship, merely a temporal one.

My question was, are there any other similar occurrences? Or another way to say it, is this a one-off occurrence?

15. Oh my...

I tried.

The report is not only silent on his employment, it's silent on everything but the basics of what happened.

If it's silent...one cannot assume anything, which is the point I was trying to make.

It is a ginormous leap.

16. What is this leap you speak of?

I asked a question. Are there any similar instances anywhere else? I could call each and every jurisdiction and ask for reports of domestic violence between the hours of 9:00 Am CDT and 3:00 PM CDT, June 28, 2012, and start sifting from that. I will follow-up on this one. I know people in that area so I will learn his associations. What I am interested in is if there are other instances of domestic violence during those specific hours. Then, follow-up on them to try to learn the trigger.

18. Yes. The timing is what got my attention.

I'll find out about this guy. I wanted to know if there were others I could follow-up on. A cluster, if you will. A cluster around an event as opposed to around a geographical area.

19. The short answer is yes

I am betting my local cops were, per usual, chasing the radio.

I should add...clusters happen around the full moon too. This case may, or may not have anything to do with ACA...having worked EMS there are many causes before the ruling that come to mind.

21. The moon is Waxing Gibbous so that could be a factor.

There are a myriad of other factors weighing in as was suggested by others above. The account in the papers was heavily edited such that this incident occurred "out of the blue" totally divorced from any other reality. As you well know, this is never the case. There is always some circumstance feeding into it. Given that the right-wing loony talkers have their loony listeners wound-up tight I would not dismiss any connection out-of-hand.
The information exists but we will not be getting it through official channels.

23. Been making a point of listing to EMS\Fire dispatch (Part of work actually)

and in those four hours alone there were ten shootings, five stabbings and over 25 medical aid calls, just for Heartland dispatch alone for San Diego County... and that is not the most busy of the EMS dispatch centers in town. I forgot the few car accidents, one of which involved Mercy Air.

Did all of them have to do with it?

I am not fully discounting it... just saying it is highly improbable....

As to the media, there are certain things that we used to be able to talk about in a nooz story, but can't any more. For example, if this gentleman was referred to over police radio traffic as 51-50 (or your county equivalent)... that is psychiatric case... with very few exceptions, count them with the fingers of ONE hand, you cannot put in a news story psychiatric issue. One of those major exceptions was when the guy behind Cony 2012 went off and naked in the street and was promptly taken to the Psych ward on a 51-50 hold.

If this had happened at night, and there were no witnesses... as in over twenty people who saw him in his jay bird suit... nope, the media would not have told you he was taken to the hospital on a psychiatric hold.

Yup, actually that is one of the consequences of HIPA laws.

So you may come across a few walls... just as an FYI.

30. I see the problem. Steep hill.

Lots of chaff, Liberal use of Occam's Razor. Most will have other more simple explanations.

HIPA does explain why the news reports read as though information was withheld. It was, by law.

20. It also rained somewhere shortly after the ruling. Did it cause that too?

There's nothing suspicious about the timing of that at all. As others have said, people will flip out for any reason or none, and not everything is tied to the political narrative du jour.

It was 109 and sunny here--maybe that set him off. Talk about unrelated absurd!

Hate radio is pumping out hate and/or disrespect for the President 24/7, or have you not heard? Could that possibly affect someone who is a little unbalanced to begin with? Pile on extra hate for Obamacare.

Or maybe this is just one incidence. Maybe God Himself sent the storm to DC Friday night to punish the SCOTUS for the decision and randomly made people do crazy shit to get His point across that He isn't "happy" that we are going to provide the citizens of this country with health insurance. Because who could miss *that* clear sign?

29. Wilcock's last one was much farther off the beaten track than usual, right into 'patriot' territory.

Said that a lot of crazy stuff was going to be going on but it would all be for the best, despite the wild noises we'll hear going on outside. He said don't be scared, just stay inside and it will be OK. WooHoo!

Do we sometimes suffer from overactive imaginations, flights of fancy, paranoia or the desire to make our mundane lives more meaningful and colorful?

Everyone get those feelings at times and it's an itch that must be scatched. Very entertaining stuff, the media and internet.
