But in my travels to Italy and eastern France, I see lots of people eating pizza with a fork.

I get it though, that is not done in NYC.

But this southern boy prefers to eat his with a fork. Although I must say, when in NYC, I pick it up!

2. I usually grab a fork for safety.

The first slice of pizza is usually hot, and the tip can be weighted down by toppings and drop them before it cools when lifted.

I usually eat the first half slice with a fork, then pick it up as physics and thermodynamics favor a non-floppy slice.

NY pizza is of course flatter and foldable, so no fork necessary.
