Just a thought about 2020

We are presently seeing two of the brightest stars that should be considered for the Presidential ballot in 2020 - Schiff and Himes. What brilliant, talented young men w/ obviously bright futures. They are what we need. Look, I love old farts. I am an old fart. But Al Franken, Elizabeth Warren, Hillary & Bernie are too old now, let alone in 4 years. We need youth and energy and I think these two men deserve our attention.

Ronnie Raygun, but 4 years from now they will be approaching 70 or 70+. So will I. We get a little tired at this age. This is a younger person's game IMHO. I love them both and would support either one or both on a ticket. I just think we need something younger and more energetic to beat Cheetohead.

but I'm willing to learn. I'm just looking for politicians with a public servant mindset which includes an ethical and moral compass. I don't have to agree with all their policies and strategies. The point is the policies must be in the public interest

extremely impressed by both of their interviews and public representations while on this intel committee. Would love to know more about both. I think they are rising stars and intend to watch them both as well as the young Kennedy.

i've liked him from the start.

one of the things that could serve him well is that this district isn't overwhelmingly democratic (wiki has it at d36%-r25%; a nice edge but lots of independents). plenty of very rich people. westport, all the greenwich hedge fund managers and a lot of rich wall streeters live here, though the district also includes places like bridgeport.

the mix might serve him well on the national stage.

... emerges as a contender for the 2020 nomination. But I believe our focus should be on 2018 and strengthening our party.

It would be comforting to have all the answers now and eliminate the uncertainty of what's still to come, but I'm confident that if we do things in an organized and orderly way... if we trust the Democratic Party leadership (instead of 2nd-guessing them or doing things that undermine their leadership*) then we'll be well positioned for future success.

But we do need to think ahead to taking back the WH and I just wanted to put out some food for thought because after the 2018 elections will be too late, sadly.

didn't put clear water between the other front runners for a couple of years yet, as it gives the Republicans less time to build the new lie.

Oops - sorry. Yeah, he has everything his many family members had and perhaps more. We'll see if he can rise to the surface by 2020. Let's hope 2024 is the 2nd term for our Dem Pres of 2020 and Kennedy can be the choice for 2028.
