The President is going by my house right now...

Actually, a couple of blocks away.

They are showing it on local TV. They are now turning off on Garden of the Gods Blvd and are headed to the burned area at Mountain Shadows where 346 homes were lost. The President will get a first hand view of the disaster.

I just assumed from your name.

I guess you have had a front-row view to the fire yourself. I hope not too close.

They were keeping them inside as much as possible and they did not seem to be too stressed from the smoke and heat. It's a nice zoo.

Our air is chewable today. Oddly, reminds me of the 1950s when the houses all had trash-burning incinerators in the back yard, that's what it smells like.

This is making me so sad. I have been on the verge of tears a few times. I can only imagine how all those people who lost there homes and beautiful countryside feel.

Of course, there will always be dumb comments.

I look at 9news.com comments about health care, and they're screaming death panels again.

One of our close friends has a younger sister who married a real nice guy last Christmas. THeir home is in the middle of the Colorado mess. He is in Afghanistan - not military but food technology, and his wife is here in Jamaica. They believe their home has been destroyed and everyone is really stressed out right now.
