Yesterday the United States joined the rest of developed 'civilized' nations.


We still aren't allowed to have dessert (Public Option).

And we still cannot eat at the adult table (Single Payer).

But we get to sit with the other kids at the kids table off to the side and can think about eventually joining the others.

But we have crossed the threshold on the simple proposition that all civilized developed countries share; everyone should have access to and participate in a national health plan that is intended to provide basic care to all its citizens.

Its easier to move from the kids table to the adult table than it is to get an invitation to the picnic.
