GOP lobbyist: Russia murdered DNC data analyst to cover up pro-Donald Trump hacking

Not a mainstream source. Scary if true.
---------------------------------------------

Back on July 10 of last year, during the height of the 2016 election, Democratic National Committee data analyst Seth Rich was shot dead while walking alone in his neighborhood. Twelve days later, Russian-backed WikiLeaks released a number of emails it had hacked and stolen from the Democratic National Committee, harming Hillary Clinton and helping Donald Trump. And now a Republican lobbyist claims to have uncovered evidence that Russia murdered Rich in order to cover up its DNC hacking.

Jack Burkman, a GOP lobbyist, now claims he’s found digital evidence that Seth Rich had discovered Russia was behind the DNC hack, which he believes provides motive for Rich’s murder. The timeframe fits. The leaked emails were released on July 22nd, suggesting that the hacking itself took place sometime not long before Rich died. And his death has made no sense, as his wallet and other valuable items were left in plain sight on his person, suggesting it wasn’t a robbery.

So how credible is Jack Burkman? He’s not yet revealing what the specific evidence is. And he’s given an exclusive interview about the revelation to a tabloid newspaper, The Daily Mail in London, which isn’t the best of signs. Then again, the British press have been in some cases more willing to report on legitimate aspects of the Trump-Russia scandal than their U.S. counterparts. The Washington Post published a largely fruitless investigation into Rich’s death six weeks ago, but the storyline has since tapered off.

On the other hand, Burkman is an extremely conservative Republican operative, and he has no ideological reason to want to solve the murder of a Democratic National Committee employee. He’s offering a six figure reward for additional evidence that leads to the identity and conviction of Seth Rich’s killer.

I believe the Russians were in contact with the Trump campaign. There contact help swing the election.

He is not a legitimate president

But since is not a mainstream source I am skeptical of a story like this. I would like to see some information.

That was the big conspiracy theory going around the RWNJs before the election. Interesting if it was the other way.

Doesn't address the OP report, but cites similar conspiracy theories. This is one of multiple reports on this at Snopes:

Seth Rich Homicide
A conspiracy site latched on to the tragic murder of young DNC staffer Seth Rich to spread false information about his killing.

Palmer still interjecting a little too much of his own opinion and/or analysis in some of his news articles. Don't get me wrong. I visit his site for breaking news every day, but if I don't find validation somewhere [or anywhere] from other sources, I consider his information to be plausible, but not necessarily factual, at least not at first read.

It's a great site to start your investigative research, though. And he has proven to be a lot more credible than when he first started his blog. He sure scoops a lot of breaking news--sort of how Raw Story used to be a decade ago.

This is a developing story to watch. But, like others have posted, I have my suspicions about the trustworthiness of Jack Burkman.

Supposedly a "family values" republican whose name turned up in the DC Madam's phone database. Was known to be anti-Trump, but ended up fundraising for Trump's campaign.

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php/Jack_Burkman

I don't "get" his motivation behind the $100k reward for credible leads in DNC data analyst Seth Rich's murder. That's 4x more than the DC police reward and 3x more than Wikileak's strange reward. A republican do-gooder decoy? A Russian operative himself, trying to silence anyone with bonafide leads to the facts?

And why would a retired Vietnam Nam-era intelligence operative seek Burkman out with sensitive info about the Russians except to collect the $100k reward? How would he even be privy to information THAT threatening to national security and deeply sensitive? Wouldn't his sense of duty to country have motivated him to contact US Intelligence or communicate with his retired intelligence buddies that still had ties to intelligence contacts currently on the job?

Anyway, enquiring minds want to know...
