6. re: LaTourette and Rigell

LaTourette: Representing east Cleveland suburbs since 1994. made his name prosecuting the Kirtland serial murders that were organized by mass-murderer and outlaw Mormon, Jeffrey Lundgren.

On Thursday, March 17, 2011 LaTourette became one of only seven Republicans who voted "NO" on a measure introduced in the US House of Representatives to strip all government funding from NPR.

In a meeting with transit advocates, LaTourette disparaged fellow legislators, referring to them as "knuckledraggers that came in in the last election that hate taxes."

__________

Rigell: Car dealer representing Virginia Beach. Social conservative. Large military constituency.

Rigell won the Republican nomination in a six-way race. The Hill rated Rigell's primary race as one of the top seven primaries in Congress for this election cycle. Rigell was considered by many to be the favorite in the primary, had support from the National Republican Congressional Committee and Eric Cantor, and was endorsed by Republican Virginia governor Bob McDonnell.

Rigell came under attack from his primary opponents for having sold 138 cars under the Cash for Clunkers program, which Rigell subsequently criticized as "reckless bailouts and an out-of-control federal debt." He also came under attack for making campaign contributions to Barack Obama during the 2008 Democratic primaries and to Virginia Democrat Louise Lucas in her bid against Randy Forbes. Rigell said he believed that Hillary Clinton would have been a worse option for President.

Billionaire Warren Buffet challenged the GOP that he would match any donations to the treasury they give. In response the congressman donated 49k.

14. Thanks for that NY times link, though it has one more not voting than the House Clerk's page.

Great graphics routine for making the official roll-call understandable--I'd never seen it before.

10. Great! A bi-partisan repudiation of Republican overreach! (You know that's how the Pukes ...

would try to spin it had the roles been reversed.)

18. It says they are more afraid of the NRA holding them responsible ....

than their own Party. It says they take their Democratic supporters for granted but they have to kiss the ass of the NRA for fear of losing them. They never think of losing their Democratic voters. They cannot afford to lose their conservative supporters. They depend on the Democratic voters understanding.

20. 'They take their democratic supporters for granted'--It's a shame

it's too late to run real Democrats against them in a primary.
