rightwing fury turns on Justice Roberts, calls for his impeachment

Blog chatter: Impeach John Roberts

Furious conservative activists lashed out Thursday in the blogosphere at Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts for siding with the left and upholding the individual mandate in “Obamacare,” with some even calling for his impeachment.

“It will be dead on November 6th and then impeachment proceedings will conclude on January 20th against Justice Roberts,” wrote a commenter on the conservative blog Powerline.

“IMPEACH JUSTICE ROBERTS,” wrote a commenter at Hot Air.

“And Roberts? Really? I expect this of Kennedy but him? Yet another stealth socialist/statist as other contributors have pointed out,” added a commenter at Michelle Malkin’s blog.

“I still can’t believe it. We’d have the entire law thrown out, if Roberts hadn’t been more concerned with winning favor from the chattering class,” added another commenter on a different thread at Hot Air.

Twitter was ablaze with conservatives calling for the chief justice’s impeachment.

“Justice Roberts is a TRAITOR. Along with all the damn LIBERALS on court. IMPEACH IMPEACH IMPEACH #SCOTUS,” said @jensan1332.

1. What can we do to help them do it?

Other than this ruling, he's been an evil piece of shit.

They have my support.

2. Now there is something I'll agree with the radical rightwingnuts on.

I guess they don't understand how a chief justice gets on the SCOTUS.

3. It's called The Heritage Foundation. They invented the mandate. They OWN Roberts

no surprise there. So figure out what you really believe in, freepers! Oh wait, you don't have that function. You can only follow evil people over the cliff. good luck with that.

6. It would be hysterically funny if they did, for TWO reasons:

1)It would mean they've forgotten that they DID impeach Clinton, but it didn't end up meaning anything-he went right on being president.

2)If they did succeed in getting Roberts to resign...THIS guy would likely choose his successor:

And, since the 'Pugs would be responsible for creating the vacancy, they'd pretty much HAVE to confirm anybody he nominated. We could probably get...wait for it...Chief Justice Kucinich!

(admit it...even it you hate Dennis...you'd love seeing Mitch McConnell vote "yes" on that).

8. Say Justice Roberts

look around you, see the anger of those you once considered allies. See how fast they tossed your ass under the bus?

Now ask yourself, do you still want to align yourself to that? This may be a moment to reflect on your real values. And vote accordingly.

Time to pick new alliances.

11. Let them talk.....

it keeps the idea in people's minds.

I'd much rather impeach an asshole like Alito, and this talk kind of loosens up the dialogue on the subject. You know, 'If you want to impeach somebody, why not him?"
