My call to Ted Poe's office

On February 9 I went to Ted Poe's website and signed up for his "Telephone Townhall" and had not heard anything so today I called and was told he had one last week. I asked why I was not contacted and told they didn't know. I asked if it had anything to do with the fact that I voted in the Democratic Primary. She said know and she wasn't sure how it was decided who got notified. I told her that it seemed like he is trying to avoid his constituents when he has these Telephone Town Hall because he can only have so many on a phone call and with an in person town hall people can come even if it has to be moved outside or there had to be overflow. It seems like our Texas Republican Congressmen are avoiding in person meetings by not having town halls in their districts.

Am I right to feel like congressmen having "Telephone Town Halls" are a way for them to weasel out of facing their constituents?

and complained that he only had telephone town halls. I told the office worker that those were not town halls in the American tradition. He was invited to a live town hall this week, and declined to attend. Today, he is meeting with businessmen this afternoon, and is the keynote speaker at a republican fundraiser. He is too cowardly to face the rest of us.
