Call me crazy- I think we can win back the House

It's going to take a lot of work- we have to keep building this fire. Trumps lying promises will be exposed by the time mid terms roll around. Trumpcare will be a disaster. We can do it. I've seen things in my red state that I didn't think were possible.

...I would expect that the shit coming from the Repukes will likely be piled so high that many would get the boot.

However, I don't think the Country and World would be able to take two fucking years of Trumpler/Repuke bullshit without imploding from the resultant chaos and destruction before the mid-terms can happen.

I would love to see both the house and senate returning to Democrats, we have the ability to govern.

Not only do we need to take back the US House, we also need to take back the state Houses and Senates.

In the most recent House elections, it appears that in aggregate, Democrats had about 49% of the Democrat/Republican popular vote, but due to gerrymandering, Republicans took 241 seats to Democrats 194. (Source: Wikipedia). As most districts are drawn to favor the incumbent, to get the 24 seats necessary to take the most whisker thin of majorities would require an average of a roughly 14 percentage point move in the popular vote.

Due to the manner in which districts are drawn, Repbulicans can have a solid majority with less than 51% of the vote, but Democrats cannot take the slimmest of House majorities with less than about 56% of the popular vote.

For any hope of making things better, Democrats must work very hard at the local level, and should be running candidates for EVERY office. Democrats must especially work hard to take back control at the local level where the districts will be drawn in another four years.
