Trump Caught Being A Major A**hole To Melania Again

Trump was in Florida during his third straight weekend vacation, and while stopping in what is being described as his first 2020 campaign rally he once again proved that he is incapable of thinking of anyone but himself.

While descending the stairs of Air Force One, Trump walked ahead of his wife Melania. Reaching the bottom, he didn’t wait for her, instead he immediately hopped into the waiting car. Seconds later, Melania seems to realize that Trump took the seat closest and wasn’t going to move over. She then had to walk around the car and get in the other side by herself.

What a lovely person Trump is.

This isn’t the first time Trump has left his own wife hanging. During his inauguration, Trump strode alone into the White House leaving Barack and Michelle Obama to wait behind for Melania so she didn’t feel abandoned.

When surviving the abuse means agreeing with whatever notion the abuser wants, one will say the sky is soup and the sea is cheese if it means keeping the asshat happy.

Dysfunctional relationships are complicated and people in them are just as prone to the sunk cost fallacy and magical thinking as anyone else.

You need not have sympathy, because if she wanted out and wanted to maintain her child's well-being, she has the financial, social and legal resources to do so. She might have to live on the UWS and might have to trim the recreational shopping, but filing for divorce will not shove her into a 2 bedroom, 1965 singlewide in southern Indiana. But given that she's seen how he treated the other exes and their children, she may be making a rational decision to wait it out and say whatever he wants to hear.

I could be wrong, and it's all speculation either way, but she's basically living a separate life from Dump in NYC. That's a sign that she wants as little to do with the pussy-grabbing freak as possible.

Sun Feb 19, 2017, 07:20 PM
Feb 2017

Actually, I'm not sorry you don't recognize it, because that means you likely have never experienced it, and I wouldn't wish emotional abuse on anyone. I do wish you could see your way to empathy without having direct experience. But if you can't, that's on you.

Living with a narcissist requires a form of Stockholm Syndrome. It's a survival strategy. Abuse rarely looks like something out of a 1980s PSA. Most abusers are bright enough to know they can't leave marks, especially when their target is someone who is in the public eye. Plus, there's a significant percentage of abusers who get off on the intangible forms -- control, financial manipulation and psychological brainwashing -- far more than they get off on physical or sexual assault.

I don't forgive anyone's voluntary bad behavior - especially not the racist birtherism - but look, if she was in full agreement, don't you think she'd be doing everything she could to look supportive, instead of this exceptionally minimal, half-hearted "if you insist" act? She's not stupid, and she knows that the office of the First Lady comes with a degree of soft power. She made that statement once.

because she was the daughter of a Communist party member in the Soviet era, her family was officially atheist, and she was never baptised or confirmed. Given that background, odds are that she is our first atheist First Lady. I don't see why anyone but the morons who voted for her husband would think that her performance yesterday revealed anything about her spiritual side, if indeed she has one. Actions speak louder than words. After reading the prayer she claimed that she would always be truthful, then turned around and lied that her pervert husband would make the country safer and more prosperous. And after reading Jesus' words about forgiving those who trespass against us, she immediately made a malicious little dig about ignoring whatever is being said about her by "the opposition."
BTW, I am not fluent in Spanish but had two years in high school and another in college. I guarantee you that on a day's notice I could learn to recite the Lord's Prayer flawlessly in Spanish. I am not sure why this would pose any struggle at all for someone who has lived here for 20 years and married to an English speaker for more than half that time.

Mon Feb 20, 2017, 06:16 PM
Feb 2017

She deserves this bad treatment because she knew who he was before she married him. There was ample evidence, before she married him, that Donald Trump was a terrible guy. When Melania met him, at a party, he had been married twice. Trump, separated, but still married arrived at the party with his date. Upon seeing Melania, he lost interest in his date and asked Melania out on a date. I think most women who care about a man's character see a man's dumping the woman he arrived at a party with to go out with someone else as a character flaw. Melania could have decided at that point not to date Donald Trump. However, she did go out with him. Even during the time they were dating he made some boorish comments. At that point she could have decided to break off the relationship. Instead she decided to marry him. She walked into this eyes wide open. She knew how he treated women and how she would be treated, but she chose to marry him. I have no sympathy for her. I do have sympathy for women who accidentally walk into bad situations. This is not one of those cases.

I can understand why a man might proceed woman down a set of stairs so that if she stumbles he would be able to break her fall. Navigating a set of stairs is dangerous enough, but doing it in a set of high heels presents additional challenges.

However, once they are on the ground his behavior is boorish. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but a man is supposed to open the car door for a woman and close it for her, then walk to the far side of the car and get in. The exception to that rule is when the woman has already indicated not to do so because they believe that behavior is sexist. In that case, chivalry yields to the preference given by the woman.

Charities event. He prodded her several times before she finally did. Obviously, he did not give her any warning, even though it was written into his speech. He made the joke on her. She smiled, but I could see her crying inside.

The whole plagiarism thing was his fault. As David Gergan pointed out, you have levels of writers going over and over those things in a competent campaign. She naively said, she admired Michelle Obama. (Yes. She was an idiot to give that speech.) Then, he so obviously ostracized her for it.

I read about her at one point and I think her father has an illegitimate child, and the article said there's a resemblance. If her father exhibited the same kind of behavior, that was her role model. Plus, she's not that proficient in English. She may not have read about him, just believed what she was told. I'm not saying I feel sorry for her, but seeing their behavior, her behaving like a prop and his blatant rudeness, it's painful to watch.

She was probably going to see a divorce lawyer on Nov. 9 and now she has to wait 4 years or his removal from office. Doubt if she forgave the "grabbing pussy" relevations considering she was pregnant with his child at the time.
She was planning a life as the pampered kept wife of an extremely wealthy man- not being First Lady.

She has no interest in politics. Doesn't speak English well, and hasn't put any effort to improving it to be first lady (I brush up on my Spanish before i go to Mexico just to talk to normal people.) She resents it. She didn't prepare the White House, upon arrival, as most first ladies do. Maybe she thinks she doesn't have the resources for a custody battle and he has threatened her into staying. Between child support, a limited prenup (which might be broken or negotiated), she could live fine.
In some ways, she has more power now, but i bet he's promising her something more if she stays. Plus, it would be sort of low life for a First Lady to drag the country through a divorce. However, she knows she can't trust him. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't already have lawyers, as she should. He has probably intimidated her about that too. Maybe that's why she sued the press, but i think he made her. They are obviously totally disconnected, but for events he expects her to appear for...like when other people's wives are there, especially after the Japanese debacle.

because pics can be misleading. And as much as I despise this man (despise doesn't even do my hatred justice), I still understand nerves and can almost get myself to give him the benefit of the doubt.

But I tell you what...if that'd been me and my husband and that gif of our interaction at the inaguration or the video of him not waiting when he walked up the WH stairs to greet the Obama's had been ME....some fucking shit would be going down tonight. I tell you what. Test me mother effer. Leave me behind again. Watch I don't push you down the damn stairs. Watch you don't have an "accident" when no one is looking.

I can see why the man would lead going downstairs in order to break a fall, but when going upstairs then the guy should be behind the woman to catch her if she stumbles. It's not like Melania is going to catch that 270 lb. oaf if he stumbles. His behavior on the ground exemplifies his ego and her subservience to him.

She's only a bird in a gilded cage,
A beautiful sight to see,
You may think she's happy and free from care,
She's not, though she seems to be,
'Tis sad when you think of her wasted life,
For youth cannot mate with age,
And her beauty was sold,
For an old man's gold,
She's a bird in a gilded cage.
