serve corporate masters deemed to be "persons" with constitutional rights, nor engage in greedy conflicts of interest that they would not have to answer for.

well, that doesn't really prevent damage if someone intentionally short-circuits the thing (such as by manipulating and subverting the electoral process...gerrymandering, voter suppression, "cross-check", etc....kind of like sticking a penny in the old fuse box of checks and balances there), or if someone just burns down the fucking house on purpose.

Are we going to be OK? I'm not so sure. Only if We the People stand up for our rights in enough numbers...maybe. It's going to be a rough road for some time to come, no matter what...

...they maybe never imagined that a President or a Party would intentionally sabotage our "government"?

In the Preamble, they did foresee a more just nation, that promoted the general welfare, that provided for a common defence, and insured some sort of domestic tranquility.

But, they never imagined Donald Trump or this Republican political Party.

I agree, " It's going to be a rough road for some time to come".
