PIC: Obama survey leaves out traditional Democratic ally--teachers
Is this an oversight or because he doesn't want to hear from educators, especially since his education policy is more guided by trust fund babies and their corporate reformers?
Obama has done better on education spending than any Republican would have, but that's cold comfort to teachers if that money is going to eventually go to scammers in the testing, for profit charter school, and education management companies instead of into smaller class size and hiring more teachers. ![]()

1. This is more of a systemic problem for Democrats and people on the Left
|
the tendency to identify as members of disparate groups; then the party has the challenge of trying to cobble them all together on election day, sometimes with disastrous results.
You see much less of that phenomenon among Republicans and the right. |

2. For Republicans, there would be a lot fewer boxes:
|
Are you currently white and wealthy
or are you white and mistakenly THINK you will be wealthy someday. It goes without saying that either are deathly afraid of foreigners, those who speak foreign languages, or practice a religion other than their own (or no religion at all). |

when I have had to communicate with our teabagger senator from WI, and he has a very select list of topics to choose from in the drop down menu, none ever go with what I want to write about.

6. I agree with you

I am pretty sure on Johnson's website/email thing, there are no drop down "subject" headings for education or labor. Those are the things I am mainly contacting people about and am pretty sure those things are missing. But damned if "taxes" and "entitlements" aren't there...he's encouraging beefing about those things.

"Labor" is meant to be synonomous with "Union" but you can't really be sure.
Forgive my ignorance but what is "AAPI"? |

9. the obama admin has continued the bush education policy: bust the unions, scapegoat
|
the teachers, deprofessionalize the profession, privatize the schools.
education is no longer a democratic constituency -- unless by "education" you mean the rich people who want to turn it into a profit-making venture. |
