A well-known heterosexual? You know full well that would get just as much play as this. A child porn bust of a nobody is not news. A child porn bust of a somebody is.

It's the same with any crime. This is about public profile, period. I'm sure there are working guys named Chris Brown who have been busted for domestic abuse. But nobody cares about them. They care about the Chris Brown who's an R/B signer.

There is not much info here.

I've sat on cases like these when I was on a grand jury and the ones they brought before us had extensive child pornography on hand and they had enormous amounts of evidence. The prosecutors wanted to make sure they would not walk.

I wouldn't jump the gun yet on this.

This really doesn't smell right. This could be a setup. I can't believe that someone who's dedicated his entire life to human rights advocacy would have anything to do with white supremacists. It just doesn't fit. I think he's been targeted for a takedown.

i have thought for some time that there was something weird about the degree to which pedophilia is hyped in the media.

as it's a crime that inspires revulsion in most people, it's a crime that's ideal when you want to smear someone -- say "pedophile" & people are more inclined to get out the rope than examine the evidence too hard.

& so easy to plant evidence in the computer age.

I admit, like you, I never heard of the guy before the o.p. was posted, but I'm trying to wrap my head around what he's being accused of, and what he's spent his entire life working for. Who knows? This guy may be the scum of the earth, and if children were harmed by him, or any of his close associates, that should be dealt with appropriately. However, I'm having some real issues with the glaring contradictions as far as his humans rights work.
