The ACA ruling is personal for me and a lot of people. Lives hang in the balance

The Chemical Therapy I take every six weeks has lost it's effect and my doctors are talking about the next step but the SC decision could affect further plans.

Since my DX and 8 hospital stays in the last 3 years and the successive "chemo" every 6 weeks with the additional injection to make it last longer I have almost maxed my "lifetime coverage" If that part of th ACA is struck down, it will affect the rest of my life and the "quality" of it as well.

Saying that Obama is planning a series of Executive Orders in the case it is struck down. I hope if it is eliminated, that the part that helps you will be in one of those Executive Orders. Take care, demtenjeep.

Thirties I had very good insurance with my company. I have a good friend who fought and won the battle with the kind of cancer you have that you mentioned elsewhere and it took her a long time to get better but she was able to finish her working years and is doing good now. Sending vibes to you, again.

If the mandate is struck down, it won't take 5 minutes for the insurance companies to file suit against the rest. Without a mandate, the remainder of the law (no caps, no gender discrimination in premiums, kids on policies until 26, no limitations on pre-existing conditions, etc.) will make insurance so unaffordable that relatively few will be able to keep it.

Best case scenario, I'll be eligible for Medicare in two more years. Till then I'm on the hook.

I'd be all hung up about being sold out to the man, too. But I have to live the life of a 45 year-old whose darling sons both have major pre-existing conditions that can never be covered without an ACA-style reform.

And it clearly the start of medical reform.

If it passes it can still be improved in the future and maybe someday become a real full care system.

If it is killed, many will suffer right away and many more in the future and there is little chance of anything taking it's place anytime in the foreseeable future.

People have to realize a foot in the door is worlds better than having the door slammed in your face.

Good luck to you. I hope you will be able to continue to get all the treatments you need.
