Stupid Right-Wing Tweets: Dana Perino Edition
By Blue Texan
http://crooksandliars.com/blue-texan/stupid-right-wing-tweets-dana-perino-ed
No matter how you feel about the Affordable Care Act, there's something rather seemly about gleefully anticipating the fact that 30 million people won't get the health care they need, that college grads who can't find a job and are burdened with student loan payments will get booted off their parents' policies -- and that sick children will be denied coverage because they've got a pre-existing condition.
Not that you'd expect civility from the former mouthpiece of the Bush administration.
But still, awful people.

(26,123 posts)I honestly don't think you can be completely human without empathy and the neocon right wing fundies are TOTALLY without a drop. Someone posted something about belief in aliens, earlier today. I'm reaching the conclusion that a pod people infestation is the ONLY way to explain these people.
What are you talking about?
AngryOldDem
(14,060 posts)The Right has demonstrated time and again that it has neither. They have theirs; to hell with everyone else.
I am coming to the conclusion that this society is rapidly becoming fucked. As the gap between rich and poor grows, the center cannot continue to hold.

(10,595 posts)you really don't understand. You can be compassionate about it, and want to help. But you don't understand.
It is helpless feeling to think that your child will be shut out of the health care system and that there is nothing you can do about it.

(14,180 posts)quaint and obsolete notions like due process. (I'm only human.) As my wife just pointed out to me, I would take some satisfaction in seeing karma meted out to the deserving.
So is it really mean and unseemly for me to wish a plague of Old Testament-size scope lands upon Perino, something like a plague of boils or locusts or something equally horrid?

(99,881 posts)And reign down fire and brimstone on these assholes while making public their deepest darkest secrets? Like they did in the Kevin Smith movie? That party are complete psychopaths with zero regard for human life - this is despicable on all counts.

(1,362 posts)Torture camps = violation of 1996 War Crimes Act.
WMD lies to Congress and the world = conspiracy to commit war = treason.
Wiretapping Americans = felony.
False terror alerts for political gain that terrorized Americans = treason.
The U.S. will never be a legitimate country until these crimes are brought to trial.

I can't say I agree with Simpson's views but I believe he was one of the last Republicans that engaged in honest dialogue on issues.
Dana Perino is a product of the reich-wing milling machine. She will spout whatever lies and propaganda to promote her sponsor's economic interests.
She is a tool and must always be regarded as the enemy.

Business as usual. To me shock tactics, normalize the outrageous. After you hear it often enough, it becomes normal. Then you ignore them and they can go about their business. Or you just give up. Neither of these are good options obviously but it is, what it is. It is evil in my opinion, not stupid as the article states. They achieve the effect they want and that is to demoralize you and make you give up. And people do give up and they shouldn't.

(24,338 posts)Of course, she and hers have got theirs, so why worry about anybody or anything else, right? It's almost......well.....sociopathic (i.e. taking perverse pleasure in other people's suffering). There was a progressive podcaster by the name of Jack Clark (Blast the Right) a few years ago (he's still around but hasn't done any new podcasts for awhile) who did a 30-minute podcast explaining how Rush Limbaugh (and right-wingers in general) are similar to people like the BTK guy. In some ways, he really has a point: http://podcast.therationalradical.com/2005_08_22_archive.html
Excellent progressive podcast by the way!

(323 posts)I'm glad someone takes delight that my child with SMA Type-I will have no coverage should the factory job I was forced to take cease existence. I know my fiancee and I fear it with each day, and this situation is what keeps me from seeking employment at a facility more inline with my degree and experience. Way to stay classy, Perino.

(8,812 posts)It comes from the word deserts, related to deserve and essentially meaning "reward or punishment."
It has nothing to do with the cake she probably thinks we should all be eating.
She needs to refudiate that spelling.

Amerigo Vespucci
(30,885 posts)Sorry, I stand by my original post.
The only reason she didn't mention sick kids specifically is that she could give a flying fuck about sick kids.
She knows the "just deserts" involves pre-existing conditions. If she doesn't, she's a fucking misinformed right wing idiot who is still deserving of my scorn. Either way, fuck Dana Perino.

(6,228 posts)I agree that the mandate is wrong and will get overturned. Frankly, I am disappointed our party wasn't smarter about this - allow the states to elect for a mandate and pull medicaid funds if they don't (ala drinking age and highway funds).
