I prefer to keep my actual email hidden anyway, and limit who can message me via Facebook messages, but it's one more unannounced change that most people would decline if asked

I noticed that, I guess they want everyone to use their email now.

Eduardo Saverin: I told him I thought it sounded great. It was a great idea. There was nothing to hack, people were gonna provide their own pictures, their own information.

I created an email account for use on Social networking sites like FB & DU. It won't do anything to change my life.

Yes, they added a Facebook email to my account, but my primary email is still my personal email. I don't think I'd care that much either way. Also, I noticed that some of the commenters are the linked article/post had the same experience (no change to primary) as me.

My primary one is still there, along with the Facebook address, but they had changed mine to not show, and the FB one was the only one shown to viewers of my contact info.

I checked it on my computer, and you're right, they hid my actual email in favor of the facebook email. So I switched it.

I discovered something new, too. Under messages, there's an "Other" category which contains messages sent by people who aren't your friends (& some other messages, possibly from groups, I'm not sure). It's annoying that I never noticed that because there are some messages there that were interesting, and I didn't get a notification for them. Oh well, better late than never.

One of my Facebook posted about that on FB a few months ago. I discovered messages from friends that I had been unaware of. That's really, really annoying.

no idea what the FB email address is used for and I don't really care. (I don't really like FB much nor do I use it for much.)

Maybe this is only for those who have converted to Timeline format?

For me, it's fun to be able to communicate interesting websites and silly thoughts with several of my friends simultaneously. And sometimes, as MetroPCS found out, it is a good way to give PUBLIC feedback on a company that gets their attention quick.

But if the @facebook.com email is not gone by July 3rd, 2012, then I am.
