(69,014 posts)However, I would certainly enjoy applying RICO to the Kochs for criminal manipulation of our energy supplies, and Jamie Dimon and his banking peers for the criminal manipulation of mortgages and every other form of what we laughably call "securities."
But I am not into criminalization of ideas. Doesn't work.

Talk of criminalising or banning any political ideology because one happens to disagree with it is very dangerous ground indeed, and it's something fundamentally incompatible with any idea of a free society or ideals of free speech and expression. As Voltaire didn't actually say, "I disapprove of what you say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say it."
