BREAKTHROUGH on DailyKos: "It's the Voting Machines, Not the Voters"!

Discussion of election fraud “conspiracy theory” used to be banned on Daily Kos, which is why I’ve never followed the site...

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/06/16/1100628/-It-s-the-Voting-Machines-Not-the-Voters

How can we rely on voting results when the cases of voting machine
problems are so hugely widespread?

There are over 200,000,000 million registered voters. It would take a
huge amount of voter fraud to tilt an election. However, an entire
county's votes can be compromised by voting machine problems, and they
have, many times over.

<...>

SO, WHEN WILL WE ALL BE YELLING TO MAKE SURE OUR VOTES COUNT THIS FALL?

AND ABOUT WHO'S COMMITTING ELECTION FRAUD

nothing about replacing the fraud machines with paper ballots hand counted at the precinct level. The media wants instant results, well screw the effing media. the integrity of the vote is more important.

They 'let' him win, partly because he was not a threat. They knew he wouldn't go after the criminals of finance and the Bush Crime Family. They knew he'd be generous toward them.

Who's 'they'? The Machine that installs presidents: the nexus of Bushco/ALEC/MIC/multinational corporations.

You are simply adding votes...no major calculations are needed. Any beginning programmer could write a program to add votes.

Totals only need to be presented to precinct level officials... No Internet access, wifi, or central tabulation facility for the machines to dial into are needed.

These entities who claim thier voting systems and source code are unable to be publicly inspected and monitored need to be put out of business.

I agree that the software for voting machines and tabulations should be very open and transparent, with paper trails and audits. NC passed a good set of minimums a few years ago.

Even the best of cases, machine counting paper ballots is a complex task. Read my posts in this DU2 thread and I will be glad to share my expertise and 40+ years experience.

If you think counting is simple, you don't understand the problem. Somewhere I have a paper I wrote on this that is better organized.

I think that after each election, all vote tallying should be done by hand, and the public should be able to watch the tally.

Confidence in our elections must be restored.

.. the same way the Black Jack tables are monitored in casinos,
with a live internet feed from the video cameras.

No ballot boxes are removed (transported) from the voting station until the ballots are counted.
Live Internet Video Feed of the Chain of Custody.

When are we going to wake up and realize that this gang of Money/Power hogs with will stop at nothing!

That's why they "selected" Rmoney.

They just needed a puppet and they got one.
Now all they need to do is "work magic" on some machines and Bingo!
We will never recognize America the Beautiful again!

This is our last chance.

Should we all just request paper ballots?

14. We need to get a receipt
Mon Jun 25, 2012, 09:24 AM
Jun 2012

... A receipt that could prove how you voted immediately., before you left the polling station. Or, if you mailed in your vote, you would still get a # that indicated that you voted for OBAMA etc.

I'm not a computer genius but I was thinking something like ....

You go online to Amazon--- you buy your 5 pillows, you click the button and your purchase is confirmed.

Then somehow, when the votes come in you can see that ballot number #208 VOTED for OBAMA and all the others on your ballot.

Could it also tell you how many other people in that polling location also voted for OBAMA?

IT would only have a number, not a name for who voted for him.

Of course I'm just dreaming because the Rethugs would NEVER let it happen and the last time I checked they are in Total Control of this country and certainly in control of this Election Suppression.
