On reliable sources they had the so called news people reviewing the show. Not one had a good thing to say about it. I was cracking up. Like they could be impartial.

but I don't watch tv, so I'm not going to follow it. At least it sounds like one with an idea behind it, that won't be annoying to hear people talking about.

Promos are interesting, and anything by Sorkin ('Sports Night,' 'The West Wing') is bound to be good.

Thanks for the reminder--I might have missed it otherwise.

Edit: I was wrong--the start time was earlier than I thought.

where you can view the episodes of "Newsroom". I only see trailers right now, but this episode should be available in a few days. I watch Bill Maher on this site as well.

After West Wing, Aaron Sorkin can do all the failing shows he ever wants and I will like them.

The Newsroom is GREAT. The only thing I don't like is that Jeff Daniels is a Republican, but hey, he's a no-bullshit truth teller...can't have everything.

"America is not the greatest country in the world -- we aspired to intelligence, we didn't belittle it...because we were informed by great men, men who were revered...the first step in solving a problem is admitting that there is one -- but it can be." Will McAvoy

There will be lots more walking.
You should remember to stretch first.

PS. I love Aaron's work. He is the best.

I think it is soooooooo good....Reminded me of when journalism was really so much better than what we have now.

I loved CNN when it started and was under Ted Turner...It sure has changed for the worse.

Newsroom is on HBO west for my time at 1200 Eastern. I am going to watch it again.

Perhaps those bad reviews were written by republicans.. This is not a pro republican show..

Hopefully it will take off and many get the messages that are in the show.

It just started here on the left coast and the opening dialog blew my socks off! Dayam... I was cheering and practically weeping at the same time... THAT'S what I want to hear from the news AND the insipid, Milquetoast Dems!

is associated throughout the newsroom with superior intelligence? The more pronounced and upper-clarss the accent, the smarter? Thus the Emily Mortimer character is the smartest, followed by the character Jeff Daniels rudely calls out as 'Punjab'.

so I haven't seen it yet . . . therefor I am not going to read the rest of this thread until after I see it, but

Chris Ciliza said on his blog that it was supposed to be not so good.

Apparently the New Yorker panned it (per a comment on the Fix) it had been described as

"an Aaron Sorkin meltdown "

of course I would rather watch an "Aaron Sorkin meltdown" than just about anything else on TV.

I'll catch ya later.
