Thanks I guess. You are braver than me. You seem to be willing to take one for the team.

(63,812 posts)I am at work and still upset emotionally.
I am an ex pat and just because I am American someone asked me why I wasn't watching the inaugration I said I do not mix politics and work together. This vengeful person then was watching the inaugration on line so I can hear it. I did say to a another coworker I really didn't want to hear it and saying I was overly sensitive today. Why do people assume just because you are American you are going to embrace the President not this one I am not.
Also is this the speech that Trump gave:

(3,410 posts)This is history in the making. Also important to see the pictures of the crowds etc. to counteract right wing lies that will be coming about the size of the crowds.
Schumer gave a good speech which (I think) contained a number of subtle barbs.
Trump's speech just disgusting. Dark, dystopian, thinly veiled racisim, ultra nationalistic. What got me is his stating that we will be what he says we will be.
Interesting in that he never smiles. I have seen other inaugurations. This is a solemn moment but after the swearing in the mood usually lightens with smiles all around.
We are in for a rough ride. I take comfort in the fact that events seldom go as planned for any of us. Mr Trump may find that he cannot control events in the USA much less the world.
