Trumps pick for Interior Secretary wants to sell off public lands.

"McMorris Rodgers is the author of a bill that would have directed the Department of the Interior to sell off federal lands in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming."

when the GOP-induced sequester resulted in the temporary closing of the national parks just before a planned vacation to one of them; she blamed this entirely on Obama, of course. I wonder how she will feel when there are no more national parks to visit because they've been sold by Trump's government to oil and mining companies and developers?

Private parks for profit of course.

They took all the trees
And put them in a tree museum
Then they charged the people
A dollar and a half just to see 'em
Don't it always seem to go,
That you don't know what you've got
‘Til it's gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot

41. Our party leaders
Fri Dec 9, 2016, 08:01 PM
Dec 2016

have done a miserable job of citizen education. Our last radical infusion was the 60s,
early 70s. They have not taught class consciousness, they're too busy fundraising
from corporations and staying mainstream to suit them.

When we've held majorities in Congress, voter rights, election reform, vote by mail,
have barely been mentioned, or as an add-on to other big issue bills. Public funding
of elections and election rules, the same thing.

We've been outmaneuvered over 37 years with IRA's, Roth IRA's, tax cuts for the rich,
estate tax reform. Chief Justice Roberts added Citizens United. Elections are about money
now. Congress is bought, not elected.

Limbaugh and Glenn Beck turn ideology upside down and hate radio loves it. Beck's
latest book is about Progressives fomenting fear and scaring people into voting for them.
Hypocrisy rules!

Bernie Sanders was late to the game, and his ideology is wonderful, but it didn't do enough
damage to the GOP ideology. Where were our rants against tax cuts, environmental
degradation, stealing the commons? Our Democratic Party barely mentioned them, they
were too afraid of offending someone.

Biden-Sanders might have won. Everyone of our Congress need to grow a pair, and fast.
Being meek and reasonable doesn't cut the mustard. And 2018 may see us lose more in
Congress if the public doesn't wake up.

democratic party will do to counter this. My fear is nothing, because I find most democrats far too meek. Way back democrats were tough, my father was one of them. I wish he were alive today, he would be kicking ass making many democrats of today look/sound like mush. He would have kicked someone like Trump in the ass and sent them on their way. The democratic party of today has changed so much it's unrecognizable. My father was cut of cloth similar to Bernie Sanders.

Fri Dec 9, 2016, 07:31 PM

the reality on which you hung your hat is gone. Your reasons for living will change.
You may not protest publicly, but you will see the overlords as your enemy, and
you won't lift a finger to help them. This is the way it is in many corporations.
You do only what is necessary, often the minimum. Companies are always amazed
to learn of the ways in which employees work around the rules, or that the rules
are followed precisely. Free lunches can result in carry home bags, paid expenses
for work at home Mondays can mean stocking the home office at company expense.

Each of us makes peace with our own efforts. Barely cooperating is a choice too.
