Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, who accurately predicted that Donald Trump would end up winning the general election, has made yet another bold prediction on Wednesday on Seth Meyers Late Night.
Hes not president of the United States yet, Moore said, noting that the Electoral College has yet to vote. Hes not president till noon on January 20th of 2017. . . . Thats more than six weeks away. Would you not agree, regardless of which side of the political fence youre on, this has been the craziest election year.
He added: Nothing anyone predicted has happened; the opposite has happened. So is it possible, just possible, that in these next six weeks, something else might happen something crazy, something were not expecting?

(49,533 posts)They'd probably go with Pence, who would in many ways be worse BUT at least he wouldn't start a trade war with China because some sweatshop didn't give Trump a good deal on his shirts.

Extraordinary times ahead if the EC actually did its job as was originally intended by the founders.

(11,142 posts)Furthermore, even if Pence is somehow the third highest EC vote getter, that would be a problem for the VP selection. The Senate would be required to pick from the top two vote getters in the EC for VP. If Pence was President, they would be forced to pick Kaine as VP, which would essentially give Democrats an extra vote in the Senate.

(20,817 posts)given short shrift to this, as much as I often agree with Moore. But I did with his election prediction, and it turned out that he absolutely nailed what would happen and why. Maybe he's onto something here. I sure as hell hope so, it's really the only thing that's going to save the country, us and the world at this point.
And the electoral college was meant for just this type of thing, to prevent a "leader" like Trump from actually getting into the White House.
